This is a neat little mp3 player with it's own screen on it. I also have an ipod shuffle. In most situations I'd rather have this unless I'm out biking and I can just clip my iPod onto the bottom of my shirt. I pair this device with a small bluetooth speaker and just walk all throughout my house with it. It's got about 50 ft of range as long as you can see the speaker. Once you start walking around corners the range decreases a bit. What I really like about this device is that it's highly intuitive. You don't need an instruction manual to figure this thing out. It's only got three control buttons on it. The left button is for rewinding at a touch. If you hold it down it goes to the previous menu. The middle button is for playing a song. You can also hit it a second time to pause. The third button is for fast forwarding through a song or skipping to the next song depending on if you hold it down or press it. The screen has a sleep mode that you can set an increments of 30 seconds. But if there's a song playing while it's asleep you can just hit the volume button a couple times and it'll turn the screen on and start raising the volume. There's also an equalizer on it with its own presets. I found Jazz to be my favorite preset because it has the fullest sound, even though I listen to rock mostly. The battery seems to last forever. I've only ever worn it down to 75% after using it for hours. The clip on it is also pretty nice. I just clip it onto my shirt pocket and don't have to worry about it coming loose because it's got some tension to it. Does it play music? Yes. Will you be able to navigate the menu using a 25 year old, poorly designed interface? Maaaybe It does play music and other medial well. The Bluetooth also works well and pairing was easy. All that said, the button layout is bizarre and makes navigating the OS very difficult. The screen is also pretty low resolution. I'm pleasantly surprised with this little music player. I wasn't expecting much, and yes, it is very basic, but it does what it's supposed to do and it does it well. There's no wifi. It will only play what's stored in the internal memory (32 GB) or what's on an SD card (not included). It comes with a USB cable, and it's a simple matter to hook it up to a PC and copy music to it. It's tiny. Just over two inches high and about an inch and a half wide, so it will easily slip into a pocket. It has a clip for attaching it to your belt and an arm band for strapping it to your arm, and with it's small size, it's perfect for running, working in the yard, and other activities without bouncing around. The music quality is better than expected, but you will likely want to replace the earbuds that come with it. They are very hard and uncomfortable, and the sound from them is adequate but certainly not great. The user's manual even states that they are for "testing" the player and suggests replacing them with better ones. You can set the screen to display the date and time. There is a sleep timer. It does have Bluetooth, and it connected easily to some Bluetooth speakers that I have. You can select music by artist, albums, or genre, or simply shuffle all music. There is supposed to be a built-in Equalizer to customize the sound, but I have been through all of the possible settings several times, and I can't find it. So yes, it's a basic music player, and in a way, I like that. Basic means simple to use, and that's actually kind of refreshing. The player does what it's intended to do and does it well. Nice small MP3 player with plenty of storage. I have about 190 classic rock and alternative rock songs on the player for my workouts. My wireless earbuds paired easily. My quality wired earbuds and wireless earbuds sound good with the player. Customizing the equalizer sounds the loudest. The only question I have is the durability. Read more
