Take this review with a grain of salt... this is my first-ever electric toothbrush. That said, I’m genuinely impressed with how good it is for the price. I have very sensitive gums and have actually injured myself in the past using regular toothbrushes with hard bristles. So I was worried at first, especially when I tried the "Super-Clean" head (the one with the blue bristles). But to my surprise, it didn’t cause any discomfort at all. In fact, it made my teeth feel truly clean. Something I’ve never really experienced before. It’s hard to explain, but it gives you that “just came from the dentist” kind of clean without any pain. The motor is surprisingly powerful, and what sets this brush apart is that the head actually rotates left to right. It’s not just vibrating like many other electric toothbrushes I’ve seen online. I even recorded a video to show the motion because it’s pretty impressive in action. One small but really smart feature is the "airplane mode." It’s not like airplane mode on a phone. Instead, it disables accidental presses. You have to hold the button down to turn it back on. Perfect for travel or storage. It comes with three different brush heads (Gum Care, Super Clean, and Super Whitening), each sealed separately, so you don’t have to worry about hygiene. You get to try all of them and see what works best for you. The button can take some getting used to. It doesn’t click in a typical way. You just press gently in the area and the toothbrush responds. My favorite part? It automatically turns off when you set it down and turns back on when you pick it up again. Super convenient. Through the companion app, you can adjust motor strength, how much the head rotates, and how long the brush stays on. You can also activate airplane mode and customize other settings. The only downside is that you have to use the app for these adjustments, but I understand why, since adding a screen to the brush would increase the price. Read more

This toothbrush offers adequate brush function; it cleans well. However, app is where this toothbrush lacks because it does not connect well sometimes, and you have to control almost everything through the app. I like how it is packaged, and it feels like opening an Apple product. Other than that, I could not recommend this toothbrush to be better than Philips or Oral-B (those major brands with known reputation). It basically mimics the hand motion of brushing, but I am not able to feel great brushing technique. It does clean well I think (but this is subjective) I would rather buy something unless you need something affordable at this moment for an electric toothbrush. Read more

When the Laifen Wave was announced at the 2024 CES, it was an incremental innovation in electric toothbrushes: a sonic toothbrush that also swept slowly side-to-side. There have been lots of knockoffs and copycats, but I'm happy to have the chance to try the original. I'll leave the unboxing and descriptions of its appearance to others, as I'm more interested in the way a toothbrush *works* and I'm not one to gaze lovingly at it. What I like: 1. it's small and sized for travel. This photo shows this product, the original Wave, on the left, with Laifen Wave SE in the middle and the Breezelle on the right. 2. It's almost infinitely configurable. The app lets you change vibration intensity, sweep angle, and sweep speed, for over a thousand different possible combinations of values. Some searching for Laifen Wave specifications turned up a document that lists all these values for each setting. 3. Third-party brush head replacements are readily available and inexpensive. Given how easy it is to change the brushing intensity to match different bristle stiffnesses, this can lead to a low cost of ownership over the life of the toothbrush. 4. It's ADA-accepted, a relative rarity for an electric toothbrush. 5. It lets you configure an auto-off time from 2 minutes up to 5 minutes. As far as I know, this is unique, as others are hard-wired to stop at 2 minutes, and I like to brush for about two and a half minutes. What I don't like: 1. No travel case, and the available-for-purchase Laifen case is reportedly not so great. This toothbrush is a great candidate for a travel case. 2. The proprietary cable is one more thing to pack on a trip and possibly lose. I much prefer the standard USB-C charging connection on the Wave SE. 3. While battery life is great, it's not as great as the Wave SE's battery life. 4. While this has a high-frequency setting, most of the modes you'll use make the brush vibrate at 26,000 per minute. Playing with higher frequencies (up to 62,000) convinced me that faster isn't necessarily better for cleaning, and my best results are in standard mode, not high-frequency mode. 5. No pressure sensor. All in all, this is a great toothbrush that's also a good value. it's just not quite the good value that the Wave SE is. Read more

This review is for Laifen Wave Electric Toothbrush, Oscillation & Vibration Sonic Electric Toothbrush for Adults with 3 Brush Heads, IPX7 Waterproof ADA Accepted Travel Powered Toothbrush (Aluminum Alloy). The first thing i really like about this is how compact it is compared to my current electric tooth brush. It seems like it might be heavier or the same weight but in a smaller package. when you want to tuck your brush in your carry on, space is a factor over weight. The smooth ridge less design is a big bonus. No matter how much I clean my current toothbrush it always has a little dingy color near the seams. The toothbrush has lots of options and cleans well. It takes some getting use to to operate the device. However once you get the hang of it it becaomes second nature. Just a note for future buyers, the safety seal isn’t obvious and I spent about 5 minutes trying to bang the bottom out of the top of the box. Apparently this company uses an invisible seal with glue and the top is never going to come out of the box unless you cut it with the knife in the edges. A note “cut here” would have been really helpful. I also have this companies hairdryer and i like it a lot. They seem to make quality products. This toothbrush is no exception. I had no issues pairing to my phone. Overall for the price, it seems like a good value. Read more

6 months ago if you said the name “Laifen” to me it wouldn’t have meant anything. Now, I am officially a fanboy. I’ve tried all the big name brands (which wont be mentioned here) and while they are certainly alright, Laifen takes all that same technology, amps it up to 11, and makes it look incredible. Their attention to design bleeds over into the functionality, and I realize now that a lot of the reason I hate those cheap plastic expensive electric toothbrushes are because they look… cheap. It’s very clear to me that Laifen puts thought and effort into their precision manufacturing and packaging, and its the first toothbrush that I’ve ever felt will last me more than 5 years. If it’s not already enough that Laifen cleans my teeth better, I also feel like I don’t need to hide it when guests are over. Stunning! As for the actually cleaning capabilities, it also stands clearly on top for me. It has a really interesting rotating head design so that not only do you get sonic vibration to loosen plaque, you also have a wide arc to cover more area. My teeth are always squeaky clean after using it, and even the brushheads feel luxe and well thought out. I have to say one final word on the manufacturing, because I truly think Laifen is setting an example to other brands. In the same way that Apple elevated the user experience and placed value on presentation, form, and ease of use - Laifen is bringing that philosophy to appliances. I hope this marks a new trend where we get away from cheap manufactured plastic parts and move back towards elegant and functional designs. The app is super simple to use and only has a few settings. I bought this toothbrush back in February of 2025 and have told everyone about it. It leaves my mouth feeling like I left a 6 month cleaning appointment at my dentist. I also feel like I can get back in the far reaches of my mouth, getting the back of my molars. As far as appearance goes, this thing looks like it should begin with an 'i' (if you know what I mean). Even the box has the fancy tear-away tabs to open it. This model is made of aluminum, comes with three different brush heads and the magnetic charger (again very 'i'ish). The best feature about this toothbrush is that it's 'smart'. You can download the app (available for iOS and Android) and then sync the toothbrush to your phone via bluetooth, and then configure to your preference. You can save different configurations and active them by clicking the power button twice, quickly. The LEDs will indicate which configuration you've chosen. Like I said, I started using this toothbrush in February, and had my check-up in June and the dentist and oral hygienist said they could tell I had switched from a manual toothbrush. They were both actually shocked, after I showed them the listing on Amazon, that the fact it was a toothbrush that had both oscillation and vibration. They were also shocked given the very reasonable price. Most competitors either have one or the other. The dentist actually asked me to share the link with him. This was offered on Vine and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get the same toothbrush for my teenage son. It is great for his braces and he really noticed a difference after the first time he used it. My only complaint from my original purchase was that the brush heads felt like they were rattling against my teeth and I had to be a bit more precise and easier as I brushed. However, Laifen has resolved that by offering the silicone backed/wrapped heads. They feel much more comfortable when brushing and if they touch a tooth you aren't brushing, it's not uncomfortable at all. Love this thing... Read more

Unfortunately in spite of all my efforts I could not get the app to connect to my phone to play with the specific settings. When I say this is the toothbrush of the future I mean it though. It has an airplane mode to keep it from turning on randomly when you're traveling. The three provided heads give you long term use. The noise level is as to be expected from a typical electric brush, but let's talk optics. This is a beautiful brush. Unboxing this thing makes you feel like its a new phone or something. If you like a more modern style brush that pretty much does the work for you, than this brush is "The Brush" for you. It exuberates style and elegance with just a little weight to it to feel high quality. Also the charger is awesome! It's magnetic,type c, with a c to USB port to help with wall charging, but because it's Type C naturally, you could also charge it with a phone or tablet. High Tech indeed. Basically if you want a brush that is expensive but worth it, than this is your brush. Read more
