This is perfect for sailboats to bring their dinghy's onboard for big crossings or for coming into port - you need to know how to use your rigging to hoist it aboard. With the leverage of your rigging and boom, it takes the heavy lifting off you. Traditionally we just take down our lifelines and drag the boat up over the side onto the deck. But as we have gotten older, it's become much nicer to not have to grunt these jobs that could be done better with mechanical advantage. Each of the three sections has a carabiner on the end with a built-in pulley. It is attached to a 1" web strap. Two of them are shorter for your beam attachments, one is longer to reach the bow/stern. At the top they are adjustable to different lengths and then attached to a ring that you then connect to your boat's lines. In the [fairly ridiculous] AI images, there's a crane lifting the boat. But you would rig this just like you would your throwable LifeRing rescue system. Do your research. And yeah, it might take a few more minutes, but if you have a bad back (or don't want to have one), this is a great option for hoisting your dingy (or really, anything). I could also see this as an option for hoisting a person aboard if you didn't have the LifeRing or something similar, though it's really not designed for that. The carabiners could be better quality. I'd like to see their individual load rating on the side. Also, and most importantly, these are not stainless steel so I expect their life span to be short in the saltwater environment of the Puget Sound where I sail.
