I like to make a lot of hot chocolate and teas and thought this set of "hot beverage" cups would come in handy (in cutting down on the amount of dishes I make). I decided to test out a cup and make some hot chocolate. The cup itself was pretty strong. I measured this cup with a measuring cup and it is 8 oz. (I don't believe I saw how many ounces these cups were on the packaging or on the cups?) This cup held the hot chocolate well. The cup was strong and did not buckle. In terms of insulation, since it is not like a thermos....I will not say that it kept my coffee hot for hours. (My hot chocolate did eventually begin to cool down, over a few hours.) However, the "holder" that is around the outside of the cup (so you do not brun your hands), that does protect your hands from the heat pretty well. My only concern about "the holder" is that I noticed that it tends to slide down the cup at times. Make sure you use CAUTION when holding the "holder" on the outside of the cup. Other than that.....this is a pretty durable product! I should also mention that the included covers to these cups have a nice mouthpiece that you can either keep covered (over the mouthpiece)...or..... you can pull it backwards and it will stick into place (so you can drink your beverage freely). The design of the cup itself is okay. A little plain for my taste (these look like cups that would belong in an office), but they do get the job done!
