This is fantastic. Works with both 2.4 and 5 G. The clarity is phenomenal and it has a 1-4X zoom you can operate from your phone or iPad . The solar panel is large and works great. The app gives you the ability to shut the camera down at night to conserve battery for next morning. I have mine shut down from 9pm to 5 AM. I have never run out of battery. Also has audio. Multiple levels of clarity for pictures you can choose . Multiple levels of video you can choose. I uploaded a slow motion video of a Northern Cardinal. You can watch video in normal speed or slow motion. You can set the distance in feet you want the camera to be triggered. Seriously considering a second for my hummingbird feeders. The app is easy to use with any basic knowledge of how to download an app, open it and follow basic instructions. This camera is solar powered so no need to charge. The camera connects with 5G and takes superb photos, 32MP, and 4K video. The auto capture feature is a plus. I like that it is not attached to a bird feeder. I can watch all my feeders. The accompanying app helps recognize each bird. This eliminates the app I currently use. This is a very nice product! Since setting it up, I’ve had birds consistently visiting and I’ve captured lots of clear videos and photos. It was easy to use right out of the box and feels well-made. This camera worked as expected for about a month before it totally failed. I worked with the company to get the camera repaired and they completely refunded my purchase price and then shipped a replacement to me, no charge. The new camera is working as expected. While my original Hibird camera was out of commission, I tried others and found that the user interface and picture quality of the Hibird beats them all, hands-down. The digital zoom is awesome and the bird ID feature does not require a subscription. I'm quite happy with this camera. The only disadvantage to this camera is the power port. I am using a compatible solar panel to keep the unit charged, but the port where the power supply connects to the camera is not waterproof. This means that during rainy weather, I have to unplug the camera and close the cover over the power port. Since it rains in Oregon for ¾ of the year, this is a significant inconvenience. I purchased this camera to get a better view of our tree line bird feeders that are about 30 yards from our house and overall, I am very impressed. The first thing I noticed about this product is that the packaging is spectacular. There really was a lot of though and time put into the packaging and the documentation. The camera itself is unassuming and has a little owl face on it, which is quirky and fun. The mounting kit is really nice with tree and pole mounting options and the flexible mounts are seriously strong and they stay put even in windy conditions without any movement. I have the camera and solar panel mounted on a tree about 3 feet from the closest feeder and it is overlooking 4 feeders. I was concerned that the Wifi would have issues in that the camera is a good 50 yards from the router, but the signal is good and the live video quality is really good. The camera takes gorgeous pictures and video and even the live feed at HD resolution is super clear. We use it most for the live feed and it is also really nice that a microphone is included in the camera so that you also have sound (extra points for that). The only two gripes that I have about the hardware are: 1. At least in my configuration, the live video is hard on the battery life. This could simply be due to the distance between my camera and router, but it should be noted. The night sleep mode helps preserve the battery overnight when there are not birds to watch. 2. The solar panel works great in direct sunlight, but it is very slow in cloudy conditions. This is somewhat expected with solar, but again, it should be noted and the panel mounted where it can get really good direct sunlight. On the app side, the setup was extremely simple and the app is very attractive and well designed. There are a lot of configuration settings for image/video quality, zoom, detection and the like. The app is simple to use and for the most part it is great. There are several items app that I found strange however. Not necessarily problems, but strange. 1. The camera is only available in the app. There is no website that you can use to view/configure it. This would be a great addition in my opinion. 2. You can only have one person logged into the app at a time and you can only connect the camera to one account. So, if my wife logged into the app (on my account), my app would log me out. I set her up an account and then tried to add the camera and it said it was already connected to an account. This isn't great. 3. The folder created on your phone for downloaded pics is "camera". I would prefer a folder named Hibird or something that differentiates it because camera is usually associated with the phone camera. 4. Notifications from the app, do not actually open the app when you go to them. 5. When you capture pictures/video, it ends up in a capture section of the app and then you have to download it to your phone. This is super confusing and it would make more sense to just download it right away. For some of the extended features like the bird detection, being that my camera is mounted further than recommended from the feeder and I am running 2x zoom, I have not had much luck with bird detection. It does detect people quite well, but I am sure my setup is the issue with this feature. The Dr Bird is a really cool feature. We used it to identify a new bird that we had never seen before in the first half hour the camera was up. We entered the description and it came back with exactly what it was. The information that provided was thorough and well presented. Overall, I really like this product and if you like watching your birds, you will too. Again, pay close attention to how you mount things and this product will give you hours of enjoyment and some spectacular pictures and video and maybe even identify some birds you have never seen or heard of before.
