Esta carcasa ya la conocia, pues fué un producto que en kicksater, en su fase de creación, consiguió 10 veces el capital que pedian, con el objjetivo de hacer la carcasa de discos ssd más fina y pequeña, sin perder prestaciones. Y es una maravillla, es diminuta, el calor lo disipta por toda la carcasa que es de aluminio mecanizado. Incluye un cable de datos usb-c usc-c, que se incorpora a la propia carcasa, de forma que siempre se lleva para poder conectar y copiar información, Un extra importante es que permite que al conectar y ocupar un puerto usb-c, si el dispositivo se carga por ese puerto, y solo tiene uno, para que si se va a usar con intensidad, no se pierda carca, tiene una segunda entrada de usb-c para hacer de passthrough de cargar, y cargar el dispositivo simultaneamente al uso del disco, todo a través del mismo puerto (hast a100 W), una maravilla. Solo puedo más que recomendar esta carcasa, que es lo más portail y funcional que he visto nunca en este tipo de prodcutos, pero a la vez está muy bien hecha. Solo que bueno, es usb 3.2, limitando la velocidad de datos a 10Gbps (unos 960MB/s de lectura y escritura, velocidad que posiblemente sea menor que la que pueda el disco ssd (no incluido) que le pongamos. Pero eso no le quita valor, pues la conveniencia de su tamaño y portabilidad, lo hacen un producto perfecto. I had a couple of NVMe drives lying around and thought this would be a great way to repurpose one of them. The device is slim, compact, and the included USB-C cable conveniently slots into the case for storage. Installing the drive was straightforward, although the tiny screws holding the top cover required a bit of effort. Thankfully, they included a tiny magnetic screwdriver, which made removing the screws much easier and a few extra screws in case you drop one. Once the drive was in place and the cover secured, I plugged it into my computer, and it was immediately recognized. File transfers were smooth and quick. It also comes with a nice case for storage and double-sided adhesive tape, allowing you to attach it permanently to devices like phones or cameras. I plan to use it with my Raspberry Pi, as it’s the perfect size for the Pi case and will provide great extra storage. Read more

There are other NVMe enclosures that are cheaper, and plenty small. But if you need an extremely *flat* enclosure that's well-machined and don't mind paying extra for that, this would seem to be the one to get. It also looks cool and feels neat in the hand. The short cable nestles in tightly, and is easy to remove by pushing through the hole in the back. Though the only real reason you are likely to actually care about it being so flat is if you're going to stick it on something. So it's a bit annoying that they made the magnetic pad a separate product (where the packaging for that pad and magnet probably costs more than the pad itself). At time of writing their bundle for both the drive and the pad is cheaper than this listing for the drive alone. Hence shop around and pay attention to whether the pad is included--with the box I got it was not. There's also a compromise in that it's held together with tiny specialized screws. While it's nice that they give you extra ones...that also means now you have these extremely small things you have to keep track of somehow, along with the specialized screwdriver. Tool-free NVMe enclosures exist, so it's a bit of a disappointment they couldn't have pulled that off somehow in this design by having it slot together (at least on the outside, and have the screwdriver fit inside?) At minimum they could have made more small holes somewhere, where you could put the extra screws for safe keeping. Read more

This housing is nice for the pass through charging. And it does work. The design is clever with the usb c cord tucked away within the aluminum housing too. But that’s it. The material of this piece to me feels cheap. It would have been nice if it was a mm thicker and has a nice magnet built in to stick to your phone. Though that’s fairly easy to remedy. I think if this housing felt more premium I’d give it 5 stars. But I’m a wretch for detail and quality. Read more

I bought a 2TB 10Gbps 2280 size drive to use in this enclosure. Note that this enclosure uses 2 tiny pentalobe screws to hold the case together, and another to hold the drive into the enclosure. They include the necessary screwdriver in the package, but it's not magnetic - so when working on the case, do it over a surface where you can find the screws if you drop them. Note that they do include a complete set of duplicate screws (3), just in case you do lose one. Also included is thermal pad material enough to change out the drive a couple times before you'd need to buy more. There are also adhesive pads to attach the drive somewhere semi-permanently - but the attached cable is pretty short, so you can't attach it very far away from a USB-C port. I tested it for power delivery which seems to work fine. Also tested the read (approx 930MBs) and write (approx 780MBs) speeds which are decent for the drive and enclosure specs. A solid enclosure if you can get it at the right price. Read more
