I can't say enough good things about this watch. It has nearly everything that I could ask for from a smart watch. Super durable, water proof, dust proof, long lasting battery, always on display, tons of watch faces to chose from, compass, barometer, calendar, multiple ways to reply to messages, alarms, timers, monitored sleep and vitals etc. The only thing that would make it better is if you could create messages to send or take phone calls from the watch but besides that this is the perfect watch for me. I only had this watch briefly, but it is great to see a company pushing the technology and software that once only seemed available in watches 4-5 x the price. This watch is a great substitute to the Apple, Samsung and Garmin brands of the world, basically giving you the exact same tech and abilities, for a fraction of the cost. However, don't expect all the bells and whistles of perfect phone integration, compatibility with thousands of apps nor the ability to phone home with this brand. These are the concessions you make by paying far less, for an equally capable, rugged, well polished watch, without a thousand dollar bright shiny name on it. It will still jump out of a plane skimming the stratosphere with you, while plunging into the deepest depths of the ocean with you, and tell you the time and possibly your heart rate while doing so. It just won't make you feel guilty for overpaying for the privilege of having a great watch on while doing so. It runs apps beautifully, and gives you a nudge on the arm every time someone uploads a family portrait or lunchtime selfie, and will let you know when your boss is calling to find out where you are. It just won't say that the call is brought to you courtesy of Apple, or Samsung, or Garmin. And that's probably worth saving a few $$$s for. Highly capable, highly recommended watch. Read more

First of all, I used to work for a major smartwatch company (which will remain nameless) writing manufacturing test software and running the data analytics team. Thus, I was very much involved in the device data set uploaded to the cloud and the creation of device diagnostics, usability, and user preference analytics for our marketing and engineering departments. From this point of view, I was very intimate with all the internal device components and how our devices were utilized by our users. I would have to say that this T-Rex3 watch blows away any of the smartwatches I have seen in my previous company at a reasonable price point. It even has more comprehensive feature set than I have seen on my Garmin Venu 2 which I use everyday for my workouts. I wore both the Venu 2 and T-Rex3 on a long hike and the health and workout numbers were very close. Been using this Venu 2 for 4 years now almost everyday and I consider this to be the gold standard for GPS accuracy. I cannot stress how much battery longevity is a high priority to me as I know many users do not want to charge their devices daily as people forget and it is a hassle. I personally make my smartwatch purchase decision starting with how long the battery will last. BTW, I also owned an Apple Watch in the past and I stopped using it as I would forget to charge it daily, rendering it useless to me. Pros - Excellent battery life, almost 2 weeks using the GPS daily every day for at least 1 hour in my workouts. I believe the battery can run longer without such heavy GPS usage. - Cost to own. You will not find a better, more comprehensive smartwatch at this price point. - I have proven its GPS and health feature set accuracy - I like that it can capture Beidou GPS signals as I travel to Asia frequently - Large high resolution color screen for my old eyes to see everything clearly - Comprehensive set of watch faces, some free but some you must purchase - Comfortable enough for me to wear 24/7 to enable me to collect sleep data - Most of the settings and features like notifications are pretty standard for today's smartwatches - Durability of this device to meet military standards suggests it should last...time will tell Cons - It is a large watch, but it fits me. 42mm is my ideal size, but some may find it too big. - Very functional design, not the prettiest, but also not the ugliest - Appeals primarily to men which locks out 50% of the market who wants this feature set - Zepp app is average at best. Amazfit , please fix this with the next update. I was walking and the “Speed” data was showing half my actual speed, the real speed should be the displayed data X 2. If we do the math, the image I provided doesn’t make sense as the speed displayed was way to fast for a walk. I have not done the other workout apps yet ,but i hope they are calculated the right way. I've had the Amazfit Trex 3 for 18 days and it has met all expectations, so far. I charged it out of the box to top up the battery from 70% to 100% and it is still at 42%. I find it fairly accurate in counting my steps (+/- 1 to 2%) and overall the heart rate, calories, etc also seem reasonable. I've had 2 other smart watches that failed or quit after about 1 year. Aside from expected accuracy, I wanted a truly waterproof watch that could a few splashes from hand washing or the occasional dunk into a bucket of water, and a watch the could the odd bump here or there. Again, so far, so good. The manual is not overly informative, so I'm still exploring a few of the apps but no real usability issues. Happy with the purchase, so far. Read more

I switched from an Apple Watch to the TRex. The main reason I wanted to switch was battery life. The Apple Watch at best could get 24-30 hours, but general use 24hrs was my average. I looked at the Garmin Fenix 8 but I really just didn’t want to pay that price. I watched review after review and felt the TRex was the right fit for my needs. Concerns before I purchased: - messaging - calls - no Speaker I have had the device now for about 45 days. Durability - this is a solid watch. I have been doing a full kitchen gut and remodel. I have warn this watch the whole time and it looks like me. No scratches or evidence of any damage. Battery Life - I think confidently 18 days is consist. The first few days I was messing with the settings and looking it over a lot so battery was only 10 days after charging to 90%. I think you could get even more if I turned off notifications and brightness down. Navigation and menus - the OS is really smooth. Very fast to respond. I like the mix of buttons and touch screen. Especially when you have gloves on and such Insights and Health - I think it is far more accurate on steps than my Apple Watch. I wore both watch’s on the same wrist for a full day and I never realized how many non steps my Apple Watch was picking up. I was sitting and typing at my desk. The Apple Watch picked up a nearly 100 phantom steps. The TRex picks up stress pretty well. It notices when I am thinking about a topic that is stressing me, like “is my flooring going to arrive in time?” Or “we only have x hours to complete this before the contractors are here!” Lots of good health habit reminders and such. I am looking forward to getting more use out of them once this project is over. Price, quality, and worry - when you have an expensive watch you worry about damage. It’s not to say I don’t worry about this watch, but when it’s 1/3 or 1/5 of the price of the other watches you looked at, it’s nice to be able to just enjoy it. Lots of compliments on its appearance and screen brightness. A lot of watch for the process The gaps: I do have moments I wish I could do a voice reply to a text or quick reply, but Apple doesn’t allow that. No speaker is a kind of a bummer and I typically don’t pair my headphones to my watch, but that would be nice to be phone free for a run or workout. Overall, I really like the watch. I thought I would miss the Apple Watch integrations, but I don’t. The TRex still has the camera remote and find my phone features. I don’t really notice anything yet that I miss from my Apple Watch that I would say is a “send it back!” Thing. Updates are fast and so far little tweaks will continue to improve it. I upgraded from an Mi Band 4 and the difference is truly amazing. It looks and feels premium and is a valid competitor to much more expensive watches like Garmin. It lacks call functionality but you can still use it if you pair your earphones to the watch. The touch screen is super smooth and easy to use. It also feels lightweight and comfortable and the strap fits comfortably against the skin. Youncan sleep with it comfortably although it takes a day or two to get used to the weight. I like almost everything about this watch - it feels solid, looks good, and works well, but it fails compared with the Garmin on several aspects that to me - if rather pay the hefty difference, cry once, but get the better watch for my needs (outdoor off road navigation) - the reasons are: 1. This watch uses a proprietary charging connector - loose that - and you're screwed. The Fenix 7 Solar charges, well - using solar light... Nothing to lose. Even the non solar Garmin is better, because getting a replacement charging cable for it is a breeze - not so for the Amazfit. The Garmin allows tracking your trail - the amazfit doesn't. The Garmin doesn't require you to set your track on a separate device (computer or phone) - on the Garmin you can set it in the watch directly. I don't care at all for fitness features - if someone made a map enabled watch without all the fitness features - I would gladly get it, so that's all I'm going to refer to here. Read more
