Avevo un pocket book color e non c'è paragone, anche se quello era di circa 4 anni fa : il Kobo è moltissimo più veloce, colori migliori, buono pure lo store. In ogni caso basta collegarlo al PC con un cavo USB e verrà riconosciuto come un dispositivo esterno e quindi si potrà inserire PDF, ePub o altro. Ottimo pure il collegamento ad un altoparlante bluetooth esterno, riconosciuto in un attimo e provato con audiolibro. Having been a Kindle (basic) user for 6 years, these are my thoughts on this device; 1. Screen is significantly dim when front-light is Off. I almost never used front-lighting on my old device; but on Libra Colour, although I can manage to read without front-lighting while in a moderately lit room, having had come from the Kindle's bright white screen, the lack of contrast is evident. But you do get used to it, fast. However, for those comfortable reading with the front-lighting On, this shouldn't be a problem, as upping the light to around 15% solves the dimming problem in some ways. 2. As expected, the colours are very muted/mild in nature. 3. Larger 7-inch screen with a smooth curved edge is a pleasure to hold and read-on. No issues faced reading for many hours straight. 4. Battery backup is excellent, as was in the Kindle. 5. I haven't had any problems with moderately larger eBooks (approx. 95 MB). If anyone's having any issues on this, please do read about converting epub to kepub format (using Calibre or kepubify website). 6. Page-turn buttons are fantastic to use and make it very easy to get spoiled by their convenience. 7. I like Kobo's interface a lot better than Kindle's - it's a lot more customisable, clean and is so much less intrusive. 8. Since I had always liked the Kindle's "Bookerly" font, sideloading "Bookerly" to Kobo was one of the first thing I did on it. 9. Google drive & Dropbox integration works fine, though Calibre is still my go-to-means for transferring ebooks. 10. As of now, sideloaded ebooks are not synched by Kobo (as opposed to "Send to Kindle" functionality). Bought the device for around Rs.17,600 during a sale and for that price, I feel it offers great value for money. Read more

Ammetto di non essere un esperto di ebook reader perchè ho sempre letto tutto su telefono. Avendo un pieghevole samsung leggevo sullo schermo aperto ed era una bellezza. Ma ho deciso di provare e la mia ricerca online mi ha portato a questo dispositivo. Non ho metri di paragone quindi essendo il primo che provo, ma basandomi sulle varie recensioni online posso dire che è uno dei migliori. Dipende sempre da cosa cercate ovviamente. Molti si buttano sul Kindle ma è vero che il Kindle è un po' come un sistema Apple, ovvero troppo "brandizzato" (passatemi il termine). Nel senso che sostanzialmente Amazon gestisce tutto e non hai libertà. Con questo invece puoi collegare diverse librerie e inoltre collegare dropbox e google drive in modo da caricare ebook anche da altre fonti condividendo direttamente i file epub, pdf, cbr e via discorrendo. Molto comodi i tasti fisici per scorrere le pagine, devo dire che si sente la mancanza dei tasti fisici al giorno d'oggi. Esteticamente si presenta molto bene, è sottile e leggero e ha una ergonomia che lo fa tenere molto bene in mano come se teneste proprio un libricino. Guardando lo schermo ti da proprio l'impressione di avere davanti le pagine di un libro. Ora io non sono uno di quelli che ne giudicano la definizione e menate di questo tipo, non ho uno sguardo bionico e non vedo i pixel, le risoluzioni e queste cose qui, io ho un prodotto in mano, lo guardo e mi piace PUNTO, senza fare questi paragoni inutili. La vista non si affatica anche grazie alla regolazione automatica dello schermo che cambia la tonalità in base alla luce e all'orario (si può impostare tra automatica e manuale quindi anche se la volete tenere totalmente BIANCA sparata come faccio io in piena notte ben venga). Il pennino funziona che è una meraviglia. A tempo perso sono uno scrittore e prendo ispirazione da molti dei libri che leggo, quindi mi trovo spesso e volentieri a sottolineare passaggi dei libri e prendere appunti a penna. Inoltre scrivere è così comodo e scorrevole che ho aperto anche un paio di block notes che uso come diario personale e blocco appunti per le mie storie quando magari sono in giro e vengo colto da ispirazione. Giudizio finale? Lo amo, lo adoro e da quando mi è arrivato non mi ci sono ancora separato. I'm having so much fun reading on my kobo. It's the best device we'll find in india. It sucks tho that we don't have many options for accesories but it's okay. Every penny spent on this device is worth it. Reading on it is fun, in fact I feel like I'm reading a lot more. Colours are low contrast and the text isn't crisp like I've seen in other ereaders but that's because of the e-ink display. I personally do not mind it. The best ebook reader for the price. It’s 100% repairable compared with Amazon kindle which are bit of an issue in repair. Handles epub and all formats well. Don’t need to use portals like sendtokindle.in , just plugin and copy paste epub, pdf and other files. Works with Calibre ebook reader application well. With stylus we can take notes and so many useful features. 7” screen size is enough for any serious reader and fully coloured eink display. Battery life good and based on usage it might drain. La colorisation est chouette. La possibilité de faire des carnets/notes rend l’objet encore plus attractif, à condition d’y ajouter le stylet (non contenu). I had a Kindle basic from long long back and wanted to update it to newer model, possibly with buttons like Kindle Oasis, however Oasis has been out of commission and it was not renewed in newer line-ups of Amazon kindle. The ones which were updated was not having a good feedback from users. Hence I decided to go for Kobo Libra Color(KLC). Here are my thoughts. PROS:- 1. KLC is a color version with physical buttons and the colors are good enough for e-ink technology and please so not expect the tablet like quality in this. Colors are vivid and comics look as good as you can get with this technology(see images). Also you can get even more vivid colors by switching developer mode on. 2. Battery backup is excellent(a week or two probably) with normal reading(couple of hours a day) and even better if the content is pure black and white(B&W). Color has lower dpi but B&W is excellent. 3. You can use stylus for annotating and drawing directly on the book. It also has notebook feature. 4. If there is a screen door effect(search for this term) then either I don't have that issue or it really doesn't matter because it is not at all noticeable. 5. Like I said physical buttons are a god-send and very handy. 6. You use google drive or Dropbox for very easy file transfer. You can also use applications to make it very easy as well. 7. PDFs work very well so epubs is not the only supported format. While you can annotate on PDF file, you can't highlight on the PDFs like you do on epubs(this is because PDFs are basically like images with no text layer) CONS:- 1. You lose the variety that Amazon kindle offers with its large selection of books and also in half the price that Kobo will offer. Regional books will not be found on Kobo and if it is there there it will more expensive than what Amazon offers. A work around is that you can buy on Amazon and convert it to epubs and use it on Kobo. Amazon has that facility. 2. Kindle unlimited is yet another thing you might miss if you use that(I didn't). 3. I don't know if Kobo has service centers in India so that another thing you might have to keep in mind. Final Verdict: Go for it if it is in your budget, it is worth it. Read more

Been playing with new Kobo for a few days now...my old one just got so laggy and slow it was unbearable. + Using another Kobo is super intuitive. No changes in how I used to navigate the menu/read books, excellent in that regard. + Everything loads up and syncs so fast! + Battery has not moved since I charged it, I expect a good few weeks on 1 charge. + Colour is OKay. Regular books only display the covers and handwritten notes in colour. It is a bit muted and does look like a newspaper print rather than like a mobile phone/tablet screen. It was not the decisive factor for the purchase and I am happy with the way menu and covers look. ++ The best feature so far is google drive - managed to sync the books from my phone. o The buttons are indeed a little meh, it is nice to scroll with them, but some parts of the button are just a dead zone that does nothing. - The only thing I do not love about it is the plasticky feel, my old H2O used to have a nice grippy finish, this one does indeed slip out of my hand sometimes, but I can adjust the hold and just get used to the curved side... Screen size is just right and being able to take notes/journal is a feature I may or may not use :D The one thing this Kobo is supposed to do works and it works flawlessly. El color se ve muy similar al periódico impreso, la primera vez que se ve es impresionante. Por lo mismo la bateria le dura semanas, aun con la retroiluminacion al maximo. Usa cable USB tipo C, y la caja solo incluye un cable. No tiene fuente para toma corriente. Tiene rotacion por giroscopio y botones de hardware para cambiar la pagina, que hacen que la lectura sea aun mas comoda. Opcionalmente se puede adquirir un lapiz para poder tomar notas en el, que sumado a su bateria podrian hacerlo una buena alternativa para estudiantes, aunque es mas pequeñito que una tablet de 7”. I'm a long-time Kindle user, and my last three Kindles have been high-end: the Voyage, Oasis, and Scribe. The bungled release and poor handling of the Colorsoft made me look into Kobo after I decided the Scribe was a little big for casual reading (I still love it, though). I was a little concerned that after years of metal and glass Kindles, I'd be disappointed in something "less," but this was not the case once I got the Libra Colour in my hands for the first time. The build quality is excellent and I like the form factor. I love the page-turn buttons; I found I missed them after I got rid of my Oasis. Buttons aside, the form factor and curved-up edge where the buttons reside make this a joy to hold in any orientation, including landscape. While I prefer the flush screen of my Kindles to the slightly recessed screen of the Libra, it's a minor complaint, and one the page-turn buttons mitigate. The plastic feels sturdy, the device is lightweight without feeling cheap, and I like the location of the power button and USB port. The Kindle Scribe made terrible choices for power and USB, in my opinion. The fact that Kobo made this device intentionally repairable is a huge plus for me, though it feels durable enough I doubt I'll ever need to, barring major accidents. Coming from Kindle, figuring out the user interface wasn't a challenge. It's not identical, but most of the conventions are close enough that in 10 minutes of poking around I had everything set up as I wanted. I think the UI is better than Kindle, overall. Once I got my Kobo account set up, purchasing books from the device was simple. The lighting temperature (from cool to warm) has a broad range, as does the overall brightness. The color presentation is excellent. No, it's not super saturated and vivid like an OLED or LCD screen, but it's not supposed to be. I vastly prefer the color presentation on the Libra to my wife's Kindle Colorsoft. So does my wife. Text is clear and easy to read, if not quite as sharp as black-and-white eInk screens. I knew this going in; it's just how color eInk panels are currently. Again, I think the Libra's text looks better than the Colorsoft's. It does feel slightly slower than the Colorsoft, which I admit feels extremely snappy. But in practice, I don't really notice it unless I'm comparing it side-by-side. The Kobo Store experience falls behind Amazon's shopping experience, but I expected this. You won't find any books that are part of Kindle Unlimited on the Kobo store, as Amazon requires KU books to be exclusive. Otherwise, there's a vast selection, and certainly, the bestsellers and popular books are there. I find it a little harder to find what I'm looking for on the Kobo store, but part of that is my familiarity with shopping on Amazon and my newness to Kobo. Honestly, this was my biggest concern when switching devices and platforms, but overall, it was pretty painless. All in all, I love this device. Read more
