I like the fact that this backpack is super simple. I wanted something sleek and compact, without straps and random compartments with zippers and velcro all over the place. just a dead simple laptop backpack. This definitely fits the bill! The backpack is slim, only a few inches thick. I love that it's so compact, but do keep in mind that means it has minimal capacity. It's great as a commuter backpack, but maybe not so great as an overnight bag. The main compartment is no-frills, with just two pockets for small items and a padded pocket for a laptop. I don't care much for the huge logo plastered all over the front, but at least it's somewhat subtle on the black version of this backpack. I'm also concerned that there's no statement saying anything about water resistance. I don't know if I should be worried about my laptop if it starts raining. Read more

When I was younger, United Colors of Benetton was my favorite designer brand. The styles were colorful and uplifting. I had a few items back in the day, and was so thrilled when I came across this new Benetton backpack! I hadn't thought about the brand for many years, but as soon as I saw this particular shade of green, I instantly recognized it. The backpack itself is awesome. Well constructed with padding on the straps and on the interior pocket to protect my laptop. The size is nice too, neither too large or too small. I like the large glossy Benetton logo on the front. In printing, I would call this a blind varnish. Just a clear shiny logo to match the overall base material of the bag. Subtle and cool, while the size is bold and graphically pleasing. The zippers are strong and slide easily. The outside pocket is useful for items that you want to be quickly accessible. The contrasting black material adds additional tasteful style. With Delsey co-branding, everything comes together as well thought out and very nicely crafted. Just like the fabulous Benetton that I remember! Read more

I was so sad when I stopped seeing Benetton stores and products- the brand was ubiquitous during my teen years, so I was excited to see this offered. I got the bright blue with hot pink backpack for my daughter in the hopes that she would have a bag that wouldn't get mixed up with her classmates' typical assortment of navy and black backpacks. The backpack is incredibly well constructed out of what rather seems to be a neoprene-like material. There is one central compartment with a padded sleeve for a computer and then a small outer-zipped area for smaller items. My daughter uses a case for her school tablet, and the case plus any books would overwhelm this backpack. I think we will use it instead as an afterschool activity backpack for sports. There are side pockets for water bottles, but I think they are better suited for smaller water bottles or purchased reusable recyclable aluminum bottles (that are thankfully starting to replace the plastic bottles). There is a handle on the top as well as a strap for sliding on luggage handles- both seem like they will hold up for heavy use. The U.C. of Benetton craze was a little before my time, but the brand is absolutely still standing. This is a well made bag with three different colorway options, surprisingly lightweight, and it will definitely stand out in a crowd. I love that there is a passthrough trolley strap on the back for sliding your bag over a rolling suitcase handle. The outside pockets are probably better suited to smaller or disposable water bottles or an umbrella, not sure if any of the major brands of popular reusable steel water bottles would fit. I'm used to more of a school + hiking style backpack, rather than professional + travel, so there's no way a big Nalgene will go in those pockets! Still, this would be very good for older students to take to school (wouldn't go younger than junior high, and wouldn't go younger than senior high if you're going to feel a type of way if the bag gets torn up) or to college, or as a commuter backpack, or personal item for travel.
