I was super impressed by these skate shoes as soon as I opened the package. I was so excited to test them out that I put them on immediately. The first thing I noticed was how well they fit. The sizing is true to size and fits my foot better than some other regular sneakers I've purchased in the past. I really appreciate the extras included with the shoes, such as an extra wheel and the necessary tools for maintenance. This is a nice touch and not something I was expecting. The shoes are easy to operate, and although I didn't really need the instructions, I reviewed them initially to avoid messing up the wheel locking mechanism on the back heel of the shoes. I read some previous reviews stating that this button could get stuck (on a different version but similar skate shoe), but I haven't had any issues. My shoes work seamlessly, and it's easy to turn the dial to pop the wheels out, which is kind of fun. I haven't skated in a long time, so my skills are a little rusty. I'm going to need quite a bit of practice before I feel comfortable using these in public. They can be a bit scary because there's no way to stop immediately if needed, making them feel somewhat unsafe for beginners. However, the wheels glide very smoothly, which is nice. I love that they are all white and will go with almost any outfit. When not in skating mode, they are somewhat heavy but manageable. I don't see myself wearing these solely for walking without any intent to skate, but it's nice to have the option to switch between walking and skating in the same shoe. The wheels stay securely tucked under when not in use. These shoes seem to be well-made and designed well, aside from the lack of an automatic stopping feature. I would recommend these to those who have practiced traditional skating in the past and know what they're doing. You don't have to be a seasoned skater, but these will take some practice to get used to and feel comfortable in. I believe these would make an awesome gift for children in the preteen or teen age range, and even for young adults. They could be great for commuting short distances, getting you from point A to point B quicker than walking. I also think they are reasonably priced for their quality and functionality.
