I'm an electrician and I needed a good crimping tool. Previously I used standard, cheap crimpers which you can buy for a few bucks in every electronic store. They were fine but as a bigger job came in I wanted something better. And boy those crimpers are fine. The kit comes with 5 types of crimping jaws. Depending on what type of ending you want to crimp you can do all of them perfectly every time. With standard cheap crimpers, you had to make the crimp at the right angle. For larger connectors, I had to mould the end by crimping it multiple times. Sometimes it just wasn't enough as the wire would slip out of the socket due to the tension or cabling weight. Those crimpers are on another level: - every crimp is consistent as the tool allows you to apply only so much force after releasing the jaws - the crimp is deep so there is no need for multiple crimps on longer, tubular, wire terminals - each connection is uniform and the consistency allows for a single tight grip on every connector - single crimp means now I spend more time stripping the insulation than crimping The kit also comes with an additional wire stripper. It is high quality, adjustable and consistent. If you haven't used such a wire stripper before, as myself, before complaining do some experimentation. You need to adjust the screw to match pressure with the cabling size. With some practice, you will get it automatically after some time.
