I use 80 ohm Beyerdynamics DT 770 headphones to listen to music. They aren't particularly hard to drive, but when using my PC's audio jack I can definitely hear some extra background noise. I like the coloration of these headphones. So, I decided to look up reviews for decent affordable DAC/headphone amps, hoping I might find something that would sound a bit cleaner than the output from my PC. After watching a few comparison videos, I settled on Fiio's K11. I was already familiar with the brand from their FLAC players, and the price was reasonable, so I was hopeful that this would make things a bit better. Boy, do I feel silly for not trying one of these things sooner! It doesn't change the character of the headphones, and it has absolutely NO noise during the quiet parts of songs. I really didn't realize just how sensitive I was to that noise until it was gone. I'm not sure what the right words are to describe the difference--the music just feels right now. As a little bonus, this definitely provides better volume control. It has tons of room for fine tuning volume per song when needed. It also worked perfectly plug and play with CachyOS Linux. Ho acquistato questo dac con l' intento di migliorare il suono di un lettore piuttosto economico ma con una buona meccanica,non ho effettuato rodaggio,una volta collegato non ho potuto fare a meno di notare quanto il digitale abbia oggi raggiunto prestazioni che a più di 40 anni dalla commercializzazione non credo possa essere ulteriormente migliorato,per non parlare di prodotti del sol levante che per poco più di 130 euro riescono a stupire non poco,ho avuto dac e lettori di alto livello, sì, l' immagine leggermente più coerente è prerogativa forse ancora per poco di convertitori di alto livello,ascoltare questo k11 è stato veramente entusiasmante,a memoria posso tranquillamente affermare che si avvicina molto a prodotti che non più di 10 anni fa costavano migliaia e migliaia di euro ma che oggi non comprerei più,il suono è limpido,pulitissimo,dettagliato,dinamico,cosa volere di più,ormai il prezzo per me non è più indice di qualità,per questo prezzo il dac fiio monta un eccellente convertitore Cyrus Logic,consiglio di provare i 6 filtri PCM,per me quelli che offrono le migliori prestazioni sono il filtro 1 e il filtro 5,il sesto non ha oversampling,si perde qualcosa sugli acuti ma forse è un suono meno forzato sul medio alto che in ogni caso è di ottima qualità,ho risparmiato e sono stra contento di averlo acquistato,preferibile,nel mio caso, l' entrata coassiale,eccellente,un piccolo grande gioiello ad un prezzo estremamente concorrenziale, spedizione e condizioni dell' imballo perfetti. It's very easy to set up and use it. The sound quality seems great with my Audio Technica M50X headphones and my Edifier MR4 speakers (which are connected through the line out ports with RCA cables, so only the DAC is used). The interface is easy to use with the single button (which feels smooth to touch). However, I would've preferred it if you could configure the single press shortcut, instead of being fixed to choosing the input source. I have two outputs, and I change the output much more often than the input (which is never). Apart from that, you need to hold the button for 6 seconds to turn it off, which is annoying IMO. Sound Quality is FANTASTIC. I wasn't expecting too much considering it's pricepoint, but once I set it up (change the filter from the default 3 to 6 TRUST ME) and dialed in the rest of the settings and loaded up my FLAC files, plugged in my Sennheiser HD598CS I was floored by how well this performs! Music sounds crisp and full and the volume goes all the way to maximum without distortion. This is all without even mentioning the build quality, it feels solid but not heavy and the knob has a solid tension to it both in terms of actuation as well as turning it left and right, setup was stupid Easy and switching from my PC speakers to headphones is intuitive and easy, this is a fantastic entry to mid level DAC and I couldn't recommend it more! Pros: - Works perfectly with the 250-Ohm dt-990 pro - Sound quality, it's most personal preference but for me it's a huge improvement to the last USB audio dongle I had - Customization options very nice - led light, nice visual, bright and vibrant Cons: - the turning OFF for me is a bit clunky (every time I have to turn it off I move the whole setup as it requires a push and hold for aa few seconds and the knob is very stiff) - small hint for gamers, a lot of games do not even support the above 48k sample rates, so if you turn it up for some music listening, and do not hear sounds in game after, this is the issue, revert it to 48k Read more

I am running as a DAC/headphone amplifier for a Bluesound streamer via the optical connector. I have a pair of Audeze LCD-2 headphones which are tough to drive and for which I have upgraded to a 4.4mm balanced cable. The FIIO K11 drives the big Audezes with ease and the combination sounds great - detailed with clear, deep bass, clear midrange and nice high frequency definition without sounding shrill or sibilant. The menus are very easy to navigate - I migrated from a Chord Mojo2 which was a nightmare with all its coloured LEDs (it eventually died and I have not got round to getting it fixed yet). I am very happy with the FIIO K11 and would recommend it strongly. For the price it is an absolute steal! Read more
