This my 2nd set of bino's. My old pair still functioning since 1980... 12x50, field 288 at 1000 yrds. Bought this new pair primarily for the camera attachment. So, the Good, the Bad, the disappointment! Disappointment: Phone attachment is useless, frustrating piece of... Nothing more than a sales enhancement ploy! Struggled every which way and could not effectively get a half way clean visual! I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max and none of the three lens would center properly, at least not good enough for a poor photo! After a half hour of fiddling with it I gave up! So if your plans are to take this in the field, forget it! Any game will be long gone or a still pict of a landscape will be in the next season before it's set up for a disappointingly poor photo! The GOOD!... SOLID piece of equipment! Lighter than my old bino's and these look great! They have a nice matt green finish which is comfortable even in my big hands! The FANTASTIC!... OUTSTANDING CLARITY! My first glance I did a double, then triple take!... "No Way!"... Then at 165 yrds I'm reading a license plate with ease! Saw two doe & fawn this morning 120 yrds out, could have counted the spots on the fawn but she kept prancing around mom wanting to play! Can't say enough about this portion of the review. Quality and clarity-EXCELLENT! Now the dilemma... As mentioned, I bought these primarily to capture what I saw when glassing, and with this set up, I can't do it. Part of me wants to keep em' just because of the range and clarity. The other part of me is like, "What good are they if you can't capture the moment!". I brought out these points and thoughts so you know what you're getting. If I keep em', they're still worth the money. Just know that the clip on phone attachment isn't worth the space it takes to ship it! It simply doesn't function as advertised! One more thing, the carry case could be about a half inch bigger as the velcroe closure doesn't match when the carry straps are attached! Very poor/lame design! Why have a case if you can't close it! My expectations weren't very high given the price and coupon savings however these binoculars greatly exceeded my expectations. Great quality, lightweight and easy to use. I really appreciated the clear and well written instructions for setup. The images are incredibly clear and the binoculars are comfortable. Gigapenguin offers a lifetime warranty. I am not someone who writes many reviews but this product deserves a strong recommendation. Disclosure, i have only used the binoculars for 2 days but I am impressed. My last pair of binoculars where bought 30 years ago and I am needing to improve my viewing opportunities with a growing interest in birding. The magnification and viewing field is double my old pair. Lower light image quality excellent. It is quite easy to initially adjust for your viewing needs wether you wear glasses or not. The focus is quick and conveniently placed. The image is crystal clear with the simple adjustments. The photography kit included is super easy to attach to your smart phone and picture quality is quite good. The neck strap, lens covers and carrying case as well as the finish on the binoculars is high quality. As already stated by others, I will echo that this product is a tremendous value at the current price. Service is rated as excellent and I have already received a quick reply about how to register the lifetime warranty by simply sending your Amazon order ID number to the email support web address. This is in the instruction manual but I felt I needed to clarify. I honestly have no reservation in saying this is a no brainer to try if you are in need of a pair of binoculars. Read more

I got 5 binoculars, 2 are old heavy, and 3 were recently bought from Amazon for an upcoming trip. I compared all these 5, and here’s my report. First, 5 binocular models: 1) Celestron SkyMaster 15x70, ~$90, 2) Simmons #1107 10x50, too old to have a price, 3) Gigapenguin 15x52, ~$60, 4) Lilolo 12x30, ~$30, and 5) Rodcirant 20x25, ~$30. Celestron 15x70 is super, high quality, high power with crystal images. I often use it for bird watching in my backyard or nearby parks, but it’s just too heavy (3.1 lbs) and bulky to be carried on my trip. Simmons 10x50 has good quality too, but it’s pretty old with scratched lenses, also a bit heavy too (1.6 lbs). So I decided to get a replacement, and another smaller one for my kid. For comparison purpose, I used these two old binoculars as my baseline. Gigapenguin 15x52 looks/feels very nice, good quality, sturdy with sharp images. However, the power is definitely not 15x. It’s between my Celestron 15x and Simmons 10x, but on the lower side, so more like 11x or at most 12x. Though it has 52 mm lens, the images are slightly darker than my old 50 mm Simmons. Nevertheless, I’m happy with this purchase as it’s a perfect replacement for my old Simmons. In addition, it has a bit more compact size and slightly lighter (1.5 lbs), easy to be packed for a trip. I wanted to get the Vortex Crossfire 10x50, but got pulled back by its price, ~$144. Though Lilolo 12x30 has a different brand name from Gigapenguin 15x52, I believe they are designed/made by the same company, because they have the same logo/packaging, etc. So overall it’s similar to Gigapenguin in terms of build quality and image clarity. Of course, it’s much smaller and lighter (0.7 lbs) because of the smaller lenses. The image gets blur quickly towards the periphery of its view. One big disappointment is again the power, which is definitely much less than 12x, more about 8x. Without a comparison, most people won’t be able to tell it. So I really hate this kind of false claim. Anyway, given the black Friday special price and overall quality, it’s still perfect for my kid. Rodcirant 20x25 is a complete cheater, as its power is same as the Lilolo 12x30, so about 8x (see my review on Lilolo above). A false claim from 12x to 8x may be tolerable, but from 20x to 8x is completely insane. I’ve started the returning process. In addition, the images are not as sharp as Lilolo 12x30, and the eye lenses can easily get foggy when you look into them for a bit long time. This is my first pair of binoculars, so I didn’t have anything to really compare them to. I did a lot of researching and comparing on different pairs before purchasing these, and I’m so happy I found them! Besides the raving reviews from other buyers who had more experience with owning different pairs of binoculars and their explanations of why these were the best, here’s a few key features that ultimately pushed me to chose this pair, and why my wife and I love them. The overall quality and feel of the binoculars- meaning they do not look or feel cheaply made, while still being extremely affordable. The nonslip grip is extremely nice, making them easy to hold, and a more comfortable feel. I love taking them with us for hikes in the mountains. Being compact it barely feels like you’re carrying them with the padded neck strap. I usually don’t find the straps comfortable enough, but this one is actually really nice- I barely notice it. I prefer to have them out to catch wildlife, or to scan long distances while on hikes. The case it comes in is very nice and padded as well, so it’s super easy to throw them in your backpack too if you don’t prefer having them out, on you. The quality of the lenses themselves are out of this world. The images while scanning are crystal- clear, they aren’t super hazy or spotty like some say their older pairs were. It’s so nice how clear the view is through the binoculars, and even for my wife who wears glasses with the features this pair has. She enjoys the cellphone adaptor to take photos or videos of wild life. The images come out extremely clear. I’ll update this review with some of the images she’s caught using them when she sends them to me. The few times the images were a little out of focus we used the focus knobs to adjust, and they work perfectly as expected. The only adapter we haven’t used yet is for the tripod. I highly recommend these, as they have enhanced our time out on the trails. We get to capture wildlife like never before.
