Easy set up, easy to use, quick cleanup, battery charge lasts awhile. Like the smaller size of this fountain, previously returned a larger one we use this for two cats, and it works great one likes to drink from the pan and the other likes to drink from the spout when it’s running. You save battery if you use on timer rather than motion sensor. Changing the filter and cleaning the pump is relatively easy and does not take long. It will not charge. I followed the Instruction and checked that the contacts were dry, the correct charger was used, followed the instructions for charging. But now nothing, dead will not turn on, will not charge. Waste of money. I had high hopes for this but highly disappointed. UPDATE: AFTER THE INITIAL REVIEW. The company gotvin Touch with me immediately, triedto troubleshoot the problem and immediately send me a replacement battery free of charge. Very, very responsive. The unit goes together very easily and has done well for the six days I've had it. My cats took to it immediately - both are lovers of the water faucet so it wasn't a big change to them. I did get the stainless bowl insert because it will be much easier to clean and sanitize. My cats don't like to drink out of plastic either. It's very quiet and I hope it last a good long time. I really like the size, portability, and more of this little fountain. I love that there are replacement batteries and filters available for it. The filter is super easy to replace. My cats LOVE this fountain. My calico kitten plays in it. All three of them use it daily. It's SILENT unless it needs water, or the filter is clogged. I have it tucked next to the toilet in my bathroom. (Can't tell you how many times my robe edge has dipped in on accident!) If it starts to make a little noise, I just add water from my sink in the bathroom. No need to remove the lid! Just use a cup to pour water slowly in while it's running. It'll drain fast enough if you're careful. The battery releases easily and charges quickly. I can remove it with one hand generally. I've only NEEDED to charge it once since purchase, and started using it more than 2 months ago. I have it on motion sensing. With its location and setting, it runs a LOT! Ultimately I needed a new unit and they were kind enough to send me one. Very patient, helpful and thorough. My previous pros remain the same; great capacity, love the stainless steel( no cat acne!!!). I'm still testing out the battery life but all appears to be working the way it should, and my cats are very happy drink fresh water. Great wireless fountain for the price. Has a great water capacity, good size but the pump died about 4 days after I got it. There is only two options, one for turning on every 15 minutes or so and one for auto-detect, and neither mode works now. I really enjoyed the auto detection because it was so quiet and didn't startle my cats. Tried turning it off, turning it on, ensuring the battery was fully charged, checking for obstructions, etc. It's a wireless/ cordless fountain which I wanted because the cord is such a hassle, and if the pump/ fountain worked it'd be perfect for the price point. The DownyPaws 2.5 L cat fountain has been the best cat supply purchase I’ve made to date! And let me tell you, I have purchased plenty of things for my two spoiled girls. I also researched a lot of cordless systems and a lot of them are waaaaay too expensive. This one is not. Both my girls have taken to drinking fresh, moving water with no problem. I’ve never seen them drink as much water as they have this past week, and that makes me happy. The motion sensor system is perfect. They don’t even react if the water flow stops and then starts up again while they are drinking. That was something I was concerned about, but my worries were for naught, cause they don’t even blink an eye. The fountain’s sleek design accommodates both my cats, and I like being able to see the water level to clue me in for additional water. The pump is silent! I can’t hear any sort of whirring or pump noise. Just the faintest trickle of water, but I have to be close to the fountain to even hear that. It is easy to put together and the product feels quite sturdy and well made. The battery requires charging upon arrival, but, you can charge it and use it at the same time. I didn’t need to do that, but it’s always an option. It took about 3 hours to fully charged the battery. The replacement filters don’t cost an arm & a leg, which is also nice! I purchased this 2.5L fountain while it was on sale, so I really feel quite pleased with my purchase. A bargain and quality! Who could want more? I’ve been using this filter for several months now. I terribly regret buying it. I have to change the filters every 3 days since they barely keep the water clean and when I do the water is always dirty and the fountain is slimy (hence cleaning and changing the every three days) the battery last long I have to give it that only reason I gave it two stars. Other than that not worth the buy and I highly don’t recommend. I’m keeping it for now till I find a better fountain for my cat. Read more
