I'm super surprised with the quality of the silicone! I purchased the two pack because it's only 5 dollars more. I noticed right away that the pink is a lot firmer than the blue one. So, if you already know what you are looking for in a disc, hopefully this information can help you decide which one you need. With that being said, I'm not sure how much the blue disc tab will hold up over time. It stretches out while the pink disc tab stays put. I only had trouble the first day, where the cups both ended up "tilting" around the 11th hour of insertion, meaning a well-timed sneeze led to... well... a bit of a mess. I think the problem was I wasn't seating it correctly, and since then I have made a conscious effort to make sure it is seated, as even when they aren't in 100% correctly, they feel comfortable. And since then, I've had NO issues - even while coughing or sneezing with allergies. Where were these things 20 years ago?! So, to seat it correctly, you pinch and insert the disc, angling down (some call it a 'scoop' motion). That helps to get the back side of the disc around the cervix properly. Next, getting the front of the disc (with the removal tab) seated. To do so, I usually push the front in with my thumb on the removal tab, and you kinda wanna squish it in past where you need it so that it "hooks" onto the "ledge" made by the pubic bone when you pull back. You don't really wanna feel much, if any, of the double-lipped "seal" of the disc; if you do, you need to get the seal to where you can't really feel it without some effort. Coughing a few times is a really good way to test if it's in correctly, bearing in mind the disc might expand/open more during the coughing right after you put it in. Once it's in, you don't even notice it and it's easy to go on with your day for the full 12 hours. I'd say for removal, use the pull tab until the first part of the seal is available, then use your thumb (I usually use gloves) to hook it and continue pulling, using fingers to pinch it a little so it doesn't immediately pop open as you remove it (another rookie mistake, and it didn't feel great). They clean up well with water or toilet paper, depending on where you're at/if you can immediately rinse the disc. If you're not boiling it right away, take time to make sure there's nothing left in the gaps between the double-seal or in the removal tab. Read more

Short Version: Amazing product. Has changed my entire view on periods and wish I’d have bought one a lot sooner. Cheaper than a box of tampons, this is a perfect starter disc for anyone wanting to try an alternative to pads/tampons. Detailed: I absolutely love this Ecoblossum disc! I’ve tried a Diva Cup when I was much younger and hated it. Then recently tried a Saalt Cup and was 50/50 on how I felt and if I put it in right or was going to leak everywhere because I did it wrong again. I never knew if I needed to dump it, so I would wind up dumping it halfway through my 12 hour shift (I work 45 mins from home, so it was about the 7-8 hour mark) and then I wouldn’t put it back in right and 100% leak. After two cups, I decided to try a disc, so I bought a pack of the disposable Flex discs. They were almost perfect with minimal leakage! Because I knew I would be sticking with discs, I ordered the EcoBlossum disc and the Hello Disc. So far I’ve only used the Eco, but they really look and feel quite similar in regards to size, shape, and firmness but the Eco was 1/4 the price! I plan to use the Eco and Hello (assuming it works as well for me) as my two regular discs. I still have several disposable Flex discs, and I keep one in my work bag so I don’t get caught unprepared and don’t have to have a used, albeit sterilized, disc in my bag. I don’t want to use this one again. I have the other one, from this seller, with the string thing. But I found the string too stretchy and I worried it would eventually break. And the string thing was a bit uncomfortable. So, I “upgraded” to the one with the loop. I was so excited for it. But it has a serious flaw that has happened to me twice now. One, might be an issue with myself where it seems to be tight in there and suctions deep inside right up to my cervix and I can’t get it out. Just grab the loop, you say? I would have loved to. However, that little sucker is curved and it folded in on itself so the loop disappeared. I had nothing to grab onto. I couldn’t get my finger to the edge of the lip, nothing, it was too far up. Last time, I think the auto dump feature worked and I was able to grab the rim and pull it out. This time, I had to get my husband to retrieve it for me since the auto dump feature wasn’t working. That’s a best friend/awesome husband for you! But, truly, I don’t recommend this one anymore. That tab, even though it’s on there securely, is flimsy and folds in towards the disc so it’s between the tab and the disc and it just disappears. The “O” shape turns into a “C” shape (since the O is folded in half), rendering it useless. It was a nice idea that I wanted to have work. But, it didn’t. Read more

As someone who’s always looking for eco-friendly, reusable menstrual products, I’ve tried nearly everything: Softdisc (back when it was Instead), menstrual cups like Diva Cup, and even period panties. The rim is definitely firmer than any previous discs I’ve used, so if you think this would cause you pain then you may want to pass. I bought the smaller version and that firmer rim has made these the first discs that I’ve ever had 100% confidence that they’ll stay leak free all day. Softer versions have always had the possibility of untucking from behind my pelvic bone if I sneeze or something, but these stay firmly in place. Getting the correct size I think is probably more crucial with this disc than other softer ones, for a comfortable and secure fit.
