First of all I want to preface the fact that yes, in theory, the concept is superb, and if it wasn’t for the many limitation this design naturally brings, this would already be in every professional’s kit. But sadly, it just… Doesn’t work. The refilling, while simple in theory, takes quite some strength to be done properly. After a couple hours of painting, that amounts to an honestly excruciating effort just to get paint in the tube handle. In addition, once the tube handle is full, it’s becomes significantly heavier than a regular roller’s handle, which adds additional effort to something that is normally totally effortless. I’m not a weak guy, worked in construction for years, but after an afternoon with this thing, my arms were really sore. The handle, when full, also has the pump piece hanging out at its extremity, which effectively doubles the length of the handle until it emptied, which means if you’re in a space that’s just slightly too tight, it becomes a nightmare. Because the handle is a tube, it also cannot be extended or reduced in size, which removes some of the practicality of a traditional roller handle. And this pairs very poorly with the provided rollers themselves. The paint repartition on them is abysmal. It is very irregular and you have to pump an unholy amount of paint into it to get a consistent result. The hairs are also quite hard and very short, which means you have to pump paint often, with a roller that constantly feels like it’s dry. Additionally, a lot, and I do mean a lot of the paint stays inside the roller (not in the hairs, but literally inside the tube around which the hairs are), and simply gets lost upon washing as it simply never makes it out of the roller. Finally the cleaning is… terrible. Where with a normal roller you will rinse the roller itself and be done, here, you have to spend a significant amount of time cleaning the inside of the roller since the paint is pumped through it, clean the handle’s tube section (which cannot be taken apart easily), and the perforated section on which the roller attaches, as well as the “funnel” tube used for refilling. It took me a good 20 minutes to get it all clean, in opposition to the 1 minute I’d normally spend rinsing a regular roller. All in all, a great idea that simply doesn’t work. The money I lost on the extra paint I had to use to properly cover the wall, the extra paint that was just washed down the drain, the time I spent cleaning the thing and the added effort both during the refilling process and during the painting itself makes this product just a clearly inferior solution to the tried and true telescopic handle and roller. Per anni ho imbiancato a pennello poiché il rullo schizzava ovunque soprattutto quando facevo il soffitto, poi mi è apparso un video sui social di questo rullo e ne ho approfittato per acquistarl9 e dare una rinfrescata alla casa. Non sporca non sgocciola e soprattutto riesci a fare quasi una parete intera con facilità e velocità, naturalmente devi prima eseguire bordi e cornice parti alte e basse ma una volta andato il via viaggia senza problemi, io ho utilizzato una tinta pronta all uso non diluita e si è comportato molto bene, ha solo un piccolo dettaglio che alla seconda mano della seconda stanza quindi dopo aver lavorato un bel po' sotto stress l anello di tenuto del rullo ogni tanto si sgancia, ma quello lo fanno tutti i tipi di rulli basta reinserirlo in sede e ripartire. Magari un rullo di scorta lo acquisterei subito non come ho fatto io che prendendolo in un secondo momento ho dovuto attendere 2 GG per averlo. Per il resto consiglio vivamente. Read more
