Dopo aver posseduto diverse Lumix, ho forse trovato la macchina ibrida definitiva per i miei bisogni fotografici e video con la Lumix S5IIX. Partiamo dall'ergonomia! Il corpo full-frame non si differenzia di molto da quello della S5, con la S5IIX che pesa 26 grammi in più e dimensioni maggiori di pochi millimetri sia in larghezza, che altezza che spessore. A cosa serve un corpo più grande? A migliorare l'ergonomia del grip e ad ospitare il sistema di raffreddamento attivo, che permette alla S5II/S5IIX di registrare senza limiti di tempo, al contrario della S5 che invece presentava il limite di 30 minuti per la gran parte delle modalità di registrazione. La differenza principale tra Lumix S5 e S5II/S5IIX è il rinnovato sistema PDAF (Phase-Detect Auto Focus), che va a rimpiazzare l'autofocus a contrasto DFD tipico di tutte le mirrorless di Panasonic prodotte finora. Il risultato? Una mirrorless ibrida capace di registrare 4K, Cinema 4K, 6K 17:9 ed open gate con un Autofocus di livello decisamente superiore ai prodotti passati, non a livello di quello delle macchine Sony (come la A7III, la A7SIII o la A7IV, per capirci) ma decisamente competitivo e capace di tener traccia dei soggetti umani ed animali senza tanti problemi. Rispetto alla S5II liscia, la S5IIX presenta alcune features in più e differenze estetiche: sul lato del design, la macchina presenta un look stealth, con le scritte oscurate e la ruota di selezione che presenta i simboli delle modalità in grigio invece che in bianco; sul fronte delle funzionalità in più, invece, la S5IIX può registrare su SSD esterni USB Type-C, può effettuare lo streaming online collegandosi direttamente alla rete WiFi o allo smartphone, può registrare in ProRes internamente e ha integrato l'aggiornamento DWW-SFU2 che permette di registrare esternamente in ProRes RAW (su dispositivi Atomos Ninja) e in BRAW (su dispositivi Blackmagic Design Video Assist), rendendo questa macchina ancora più versatile di quanto non lo sia già da sola. Unica pecca, che non è nemmeno imputabile alla macchina stessa, è il costo elevato degli obiettivi e lo scarso numero di essi, specie se confrontati con gli ecosistemi Sony, Canon o Nikon, ad esempio. Fortunatamente, l'ingresso di Samyang nella L-Mount Alliance dovrebbe portare ad un numero maggiore di obiettivi, speriamo anche più economici. Read more

I’m a former professional photographer now running a design studio. As I looked to modernise my services and attract better clients, I realised I needed to do more with video. After researching the options, everything kept pointing back to the Panasonic S5IIX - a camera that offers serious capability without breaking the bank. If your focus is on video, get this camera - whether for the outstanding in-body stabilisation or those lovely V-Log files that are surprisingly easy to grade. For stills photographers, don’t rule it out either. I’ve now adopted a hybrid workflow, and this camera hits the mark. The S5IIX is aimed more at video shooters, but it’s a perfectly capable stills camera too. I picked it up with the 50mm lens in a bundle deal that made it even more affordable, and the quality of that lens is stunning, with crisp, sharp detail from edge to edge, even wide open at f/1.8. The L-Mount lenses are a collaboration with Leica, and it shows. The body is compact and light - a welcome change after years of using old Canon pro gear that always felt heavy for the sake of it. The Lumix feels solid and well put together, and from what I’ve heard from long-term users, it’s also proven to be reliable — no overheating, no drama. There’s a broad range of third-party accessories if you want to rig it out properly. I’ve used parts from SmallRig, Atomos, Godox and others, but what impressed me is how usable the S5IIX is even without extras. It records 6K 10-bit Open Gate video (full sensor width, 3:2), which gives you loads of room for reframing or vertical crops. I find the image quality genuinely impressive. Stills are equally strong, and the 24MP sensor feels like a sweet spot: enough detail for large prints without huge file sizes. If you want to push things further, there’s a 96MP high-res mode - best used on a tripod with no subject movement, but the results are genuinely stunning and comparable with 100MP medium format cameras. The 14-stop+ dynamic range has few equals, delivering smooth highlight roll-off and clean shadows without obvious noise or banding. Colour rendering is strong, and the files hold up well in grading or Raw editing. The lack of an anti-aliasing filter adds clarity, especially when paired with the Lumix lenses. I had considered using my old Canon lenses with an adaptor, but I’m glad I didn’t. I started with the Lumix 50mm, added the 14–28mm, and plan to get the 24–105mm next. The L-Mount was developed with Leica and their influence is felt. You even get Leica colour profiles in the camera, which is a nice touch. Low light performance is amazing. ISO 4000 often looks as clean as ISO 100 did on my older cameras, which is remarkable. I often check the EXIF to be sure - and this ability opens up situations I wouldn’t have attempted before. The not-so-good? The menu system is comprehensive, to put it mildly - which is both a strength and a challenge. It took a while to get everything set how I like it, and I did end up watching quite a few videos to understand certain features. The PDF manual is massive, so online guidance was more helpful at first. The blacked-out branding on the front looks great, but the dark top dial markings aren’t ideal. They’re hard to see in low light and should have stayed white for usability. Battery life is decent, but if you spend a lot of time in the menus or playback, it drains quicker, so I picked up two spares and a dual charger. Summary There are enough features on this camera to write about it all day, but here’s the bottom line: you’re getting a tool used by top professionals, without the price tag that usually comes with it. Whether you’re producing video content, shooting stills, or combining both, the S5IIX is capable, flexible, and solid. The lens ecosystem is excellent, with strong options from Panasonic, Leica, and Sigma. It’s also surprisingly future-proof. You can record straight to an SSD, load LUTs, shoot full-sensor Open Gate, or just set it to auto and capture great results. If you’re comparing cameras in this range, it’s hard to find anything that offers more for the money - especially if you’re aiming to grow creatively or professionally. This camera may now be deleted. For the photographer (more so than for the videographer?), this camera remains an excellent tool. For less than £900, not only do you get an excellent, well made, modern camera, which in all respects, bar possibly the contrast only auto-focus, matches the latest & greatest top end cameras, but in this kit comes with an excellent 50mm F/1.8 standard prime lens, but also a very underrated 18-40mm light weight super compact zoom lens. This latter lens may have a relatively slow, maximum aperture, but it would be difficult to distinguish the results from more expensive, heavier F2.8 (super wide-standard) zoom lenses, @ f4-5.6 apertures. Indeed with the excellent IBIS of the Lumix S5 the slower apertures & speeds, can still be used, except on faster moving subjects in low light. Just phenomenal value! Read more

Tralasciando tutte le specifiche tecniche reperibili ovunque, è una mirrorless di altissimo livello orientata fortemente ai video. Grazie ai codec specifici si ottengono risultati impressionanti. La presenza di ventole a bordo impedisce l'arresto per surriscaldamento. Il modello S5II-X permette di registrare direttamente su SSD esterno. He sido propietario de varias camaras Sony (A6400, Alpha 7 II y Alpha 7 III) y Olympus OMD 10, hasta ahora es la primera Panasonic y en resumen estoy gratamente sorprendido, habia leido y visto cientos de reviews, donde se hablaba mucho de su AF y para nada me a parecido tan por debajo del Af de las Sony, no es perfecto, pero tampoco lo es el AF de las Sony. Es una camara hibrida que te dá unas prestaciones profesiones en video y tambien en fotografia, los colores, rango dinamico, video en 10 o 12 BITS, es una pasada en una camara de este precio. La camara es sencilla de hacer funcionar, los menus son claros e intuitivos, todos los botones son programables, es muy comoda y compacta, un poco pesada pero se ve un producto premium, la empuñadura tiene un muy buen grip, la pantalla abatible es muy util y con muy buena vision a la luz del dia. Es el mejor objetivo KIT que he tenidp en una camara, un 20-60 que te permite hacer Vlog comodamente o unas fotos con un gran angular muy bueno o para hacer retrato, da una imagen nitida y limpia. El punto menos bueno es que comparandolo con otras marcas, los objetivos son algo caros y no hay mucha variedad, hay adaptadores para monturas de Canon EF que funcionan perfectos. DIe Panasonic Lumix S5D inkl. Lumix S 18-40mm überzeugt mich bisher total. Wertiges Gehäuse, rauscharmer Sensor, brillianter Sucher, 96 Megapixel Modus, 2. Speicherkarten-Slot ...... uvm.. Habe die Kamera über Amazon Marketplace (Foto Erhardt) für 999,99 € gekauft. Das ist einfach ein sensationeller Preis für eine Vollformatkamera mit Objektiv. Ich habe sie mir gekauft, weil ich das System interessant finde und von der Fototechnik allgemein angetan bin. Es wird aber wohl mehr werden, als nur ein gründlicher Kameratest. Die Lumix S5D wird mich länger begleiten. Erste Aufnahmen in meiner Wohnung und endlich auch bei schönem Wetter draußen sind voll gelungen. Der Autofokus ist im OneShot-Modus sehr schnell und präzise, der integrierte Bildstabilisator wirkungsvoll. Ich habe auch den HighResolution-Modus mit 96MP getestet: Es funktioniert vom Stativ super, die Bilder werden äußerst detailreich. Toll für die Architektur- und Landschaftsfotografie. Auch von der Bedienung bzw. der Ergonomie her ist die Kamera sehr gelungen. Das kleine 18-40mm Objektiv wiegt kaum mehr als drei Scheiben Salami, macht aber prima scharfe Bilder. Ich habe mir noch das Lumix S 85mm 1.8 hinzugekauft, es ergibt eine Traumkombi mit der S5D. Sehr schönes Bokeh, Schärfe schon bei Offenblende gut. Sehr überzeugend auch, dass Kamera und Objektive voll wetterfest und staubsicher sind. Aus meiner Sicht ist das Panasonic Lumix S-System mehr als nur irgendeine Alternative zu den Platzhirschen Canon, Sony und Nikon. Es ist bei den Preisen derzeit das Vollformatsystem mit dem besten Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Ich hoffe, das ich mit meinem kleinen Lumix System noch viel Freude haben werde. Ich habe Erfahrung mit nahezu allen gängigen Systemen (nutze aktuell ein großes Sony-System und eine DSLR von Canon). This camera is amazing, it’s way above my abilities at the moment but I’m learning fast. I own a couple of decent Sony cameras, one is a low level DSLR but this one is on a whole different level and is the first mirrorless camera I’ve owned. The instruction manual is huge but very comprehensive and easy to find your way around. Unfortunately it’s not a printed copy, it can be downloaded but it’s too big to print off. I do prefer to read something on paper rather than a screen but online does allow you to easily find the section you need. It’s a very substantial sturdy camera but not so heavy that you can’t carry it around. I am a bit scared of dropping it so at the moment it’s either around my neck or on a tripod, a case is on order. The battery life is second to none, I charged it initially and throughout testing it’s not needed recharging and still shows 2 bars. Using the manual, I’ve been able to take a few better than decent photos, make adjustments and generally play around with the settings. The auto focus is my go to setting for now but as I understand the dials and settings more that will change. The screen and view finder give a beautifully clear image of the picture you’re about to take. I find the way the rear screen moves and rotates is very useful. The picture quality is amazing, better than anything I’ve taken on my other cameras. The depth of image really shows almost making some appear 3D. I love the little square in the view finder that allows you to focus in on certain areas or open it up to the whole screen. It’s the first time I’ve managed to blur everything other than the focal point. I’ve found all the dials and controls I’ve used to be very responsive. There is an option to add a flash but I’ve been so impressed with the low light level photos I’ve taken I won’t be purchasing one. I’ve not done much with the video function other than to make sure it works, to be honest I’ve not used that function much in previous cameras so I’m not sure I’ll get much use with this one either I’m more of a stills person. It is very easy though to move from still photography to video recording. As I’ve only used Sony cameras in the past this is taking a bit of getting used to but I have to say it does without doubt produce the best images I’ve ever shot. Read more

Qualità prezzo imbattibile in offerta a 1200€. Qualità ad alti ISO e gamma dinamica nel raw eccellente, peso e dimensioni contenute. L'ottica non è particolarmente luminosa nè stabilizzata ma è perfetta per il sensore stabilizzato che può fotografare a ISO 16000 con risultati ancora utilizzabili. L'inquadratura del grandangolo a 20mm nel raw inizia a mostrare un effetto "fisheye" ed è bellissima. Lo zoom fino a 60mm permette ritratti e inquadrature più tradizionali. Read more
