I highly recommend the Prevention OttLite and even if you don't like this style try the other Prevention OttLites. You won't be sorry. I've had this light for approximately 8 years. I use it for reading, writing, watercolor painting and basically any time I need a light. I love the three different light levels. I was so lost when the light went out because print was harder to read as well as colors not being as natural. I immediately purchased another just like this one and continually watched the tracking for shipment. When I received the new light two days later, I immediately opened the box and started to replace my old light with the new. But, as soon as I removed the unused charging cord for my telephone that had been wrapped around the neck (so I wouldn't loose it) the light began to work! I know this light is expensive; however, it truly is the best light I've ever used. I didn't hesitate to purchase a replacement. I highly recommend the Prevention OttLight. You won't be sorry. This is the second Ott desk lamp I have purchased. The first was for my sewing room where I do most of my counted cross stitching projects. It is important to have excellent clear light that doesn’t distort the thread colors. And this lamp with its LED bulbs is perfect, especially since it also has three light levels and multiple adjustments to obtain the correct angle for whatever work you are doing. It is very heavy for its size and not likely to be tipped over. The adjusting wing nuts are stainless steel, large enough to easily turn and set. The second lamp is being used in my office. It was needed because the lighting was originally arranged for my late left-handed spouse and cannot be changed. I was constantly working in my own shadow and the Ott lamp gives me all the light I need to see what I am doing.
