I grabbed this to see how well it worked. I put it up in my bathroom and tied it into Homekit to control the Hue lights that I have in there. The sensor turns the lights on and off with motion, so as soon as I walk in, all the lights turn on automatically, then turns them off once motion is no longer detected. So far it's been 100% reliable, and I have even set up different behaviors based on the time of day, so at night it only turns the lights on to a minimum brightness so I am not night blind when I go back to bed. Installation is effortless, just stick it to the wall where you want motion detected. The sensor can actually work as a light sensor as well, so it could potentially be used to turn on lights based on ambient light conditions, but Homekit doesn't support that function at this point so I am not using it. These sensors do need an Aqara hub to work, but considering you can get them for under $30 it makes this sensor cheaper than most of the competition even with buying one. Considering all of the other sensors and products in the Aqara lineup and the Homekit compatibility of them, these things really are a steal. Read more

These small sensors are easy to install and work great with a ZHA Home Assistant integration. Instant state notifications and battery life are good, plus these guys are so small and easy to place where needed. The magnetic range is also not bad and will allow the sensor to detect as closed even in more situations. Read more

I bought this product to detect when I hit my center console and then run an automation. The vibration sensor in the device works well (my table is about 1/2 an inch thick). No connection issues, my 2nd aqara device through Zigbee. All you do is click the button while searching for Zigbee devices and it pops up almost instantly just like any other Zigbee device. Do note that the vibration is detected like a motion sensor. In HA it has an IAS zone just like the SmartThings motion sensor and stays on for a few seconds making it so you can only use the vibration every half a minute or so. Read more

Initially I had some issues trying to get my home assistant setup to detect the sensor in pairing mode, but re-enabling it to pair while right next to the main coordinator somehow made it pair automatically. After the pairing it's been working very smoothly 100% of the time. Currently running with Sonoff Zigbee Dongle-E + Zigbee2MQTT + Home Assistant. Read more
