This thing is awesome! My teen and husband will not wake up to normal alarms in the morning. I bought two of these and they work amazing! Extremely loud which is what they needed. Easy to use and set up one you read the manual. A little bigger than expected but love it has a clip so we can place it a short distance away from the bed so it forces them to get up. Great product The 220 is a great model. I am a very deep sleeper. Ill sleep through my alarms for hours. With this product I usually only have to set it to medium and I wake up fine. The buttons are so complicated that you really have to wake up to turn it off. I try to avoid the loud option because it is so loud that it actually defend your ears and I have a cat who sleeps with me. The loud option is legitimately loud enough that I dont use it because I'm worried about damaging my cats hearing, plus she is terrified the times she did hear it, so I assume it's not a present experience for her. I saw a lot of reviews about this company's alarm clock.And they said it's not as loud as the 220. With what I just said, I'm curious about the alarm clock version and I'm considering buying it as well.Because even if the alarm clock is not as loud as this model i'm sure it's loud enough. Trust me, you wouldn't want the alarm clock version to be as loud as the max volume on this thing It didn't really cover a snooze function in the manual but it does seem to go off repeatedly after a few minutes if you dont fully disengage the alarm. (Short review//) It’s an amazing alarm, buy it! Definitely worth the money! (Long review//) I’ve never been a morning person till the screaming meanie 220 came into my life. I started being late for work because of “sleeping through my alarm” and “turning my alarm off while still being asleep” (per my wife). That is not the case with the screaming meanie 220; the screaming meanie 220 is loud enough to wake up a comatose person. This MF is ridiculously, unbelievably, painfully loud. Most people can’t comprehend how loud 120DB really is, for reference an ambulance siren is between 110 to 120 decibels. Imagine that in your bedroom to wake you up every morning. For all the people who say the screaming meaning 220 is too difficult to use or too complicated have reading comprehension problems. I’m not being mean. I just can’t understand what they don’t understand. The instructions are super clear and easy to follow, there are only four face buttons on the thing two switches one for volume and one for current time/alarm, the other two buttons are to set the hour and minute. If you do a simple Internet search, you will find a video they made walking you through every feature of the screaming meanie 220. On the back of the screaming meanie 220 it has a little clip for truckers to hang the alarm on their CB hooks in their trucks. Also a little mounting hole, I’d recommend putting a little tack/pin in your wall across from your bed to mount your alarm on, so you have to physically get out of bed to turn it off, since you’re already out of bed, you might as well stay up and start your day. The buttons are super clicky and responsive, and the plastic shell feels very well built. It feels like a product that would last decades. I got the transparent green. This does nothing for the functionality of the alarm, but it does make me happy. It reminds me of my transparent Gameboy from the early 2000s. Read more

At first I wanted to run over this "alarm" with my car. The directions are NOT good, and only after searching online for info did I learn that it's NOT an alarm clock ... you can only set it as a timer - which would be okay IF the instructions stated that clearly. That caused a LOT of problems with trying to set it and the aforementioned desire to crush it beneath my car. Loud? YES. Very loud. I drive OTR and I sometimes have a tendency to oversleep, and it has cost me $$ in the past. This is my second Screaming Meanie, I bought the 1st one several years ago and it worked perfectly until I dropped it out of my bag in water and the screen partially quit working, 100% my fault. I didn’t hesitate to order another one and for a alarm clock they are kinda pricey but it works flawlessly and will last forever and will wake the dead. Battery life is awesome, I use mine 6 to 7 days a week and the Energizer battery lasts for 10-12 months. Some complain about how you set it but honestly once you get the hang of it I have no problems. I couldn’t live without my SCREAMING MEANIE !!! Definitely takes some time knowing how to use it. Sometimes if I set the alarm time, if I switch to clock time view after setting/viewing the alarm time, I changes the alarm an hour ahead. I guess once the clock is set then the alarm is set you just leave it on the alarm view. Also after a few days I notice the clock time fall behind like 3-4 minutes. I have a feeling that using the buttons on this everyday to set it will ware them out at some point. Definitely loud enough though. Would be more user friendly to get the samshow 120db alarm clock or big bang and sonic bomb 110db alarm clock for less cost. Read more

To those who have it delivered to work place, do NOT test it at work. It came as scheduled in a nice box with instructions. PLEASE read them first and get familiar with how to turn it off. This is important. Wear earplugs when you test it.or face it away from you and others! Read the directions before testing and be ready to turn it to LOW! I can't tell if I accidentally hit HIGH instead of MED, and won't know until I get home to test it again, but I can definitely say that whatever I switched it to from LOW just about made my ears bleed. I scared my coworkers and people thought our fire alarm was being tested. That being said, I may have to muffle it if what we heard was the middle volume. I will edit my review once I've actually tried it out for waking up, but I can truly say, if this doesn't wake me up, nothing will! Wow! Edit, same day: I tried it out at home. It was the MED volume we heard at work. LOW is really light, great for anyone who wakes up with little noise and for other alerts. MED really should be termed as HIGH as I imagine it can do damage to your hearing if exposed to it too long. It's REALLY loud. HIGH should be termed WAKE THE DEAD, as well as alert authorities miles away. This setting should not be used around anyone or any animal with sensitive ears. It's literally louder than a siren you're standing next to. Pros: You can take it camping, or traveling, and have a great alarm you know will wake you up. You can scare away ANY dangerous animal with it. Though, I wouldn't use it around a skunk. You can use it to help people find you miles away if you're lost, or they're lost, as it has a beacon feature that goes off every 5 minutes. You can check before setting it for the next alarm what the battery status is. It has a timer feature. Cons: It could do serious hearing damage and I highly recommend always facing it away from you when set on MED or HIGH, preferably underneath something like a pillow. You have to set it for each alarm since it will only set 21 hours in advance. Though this may be an asset since you wouldn't want it perpetually set to go off if set on anything but LOW. Edit (less than a week after): Impressions: you can change how loud the middle volume is by facing it away from you or up just a few feet away. I have been able to sleep through this while fans and AC are blowing and other alarms have been going off for about 30 minutes. I will try it as the first thing to come on tomorrow morning instead of as a fail safe and report findings. Read more
