Okay, I bought 2 of these. Changing the weights works 'alright'. It really doesn't work perfectly. Especially not when you're in a workout and thus probably shaking / sweating / heavily breathing. In that case changing the weights won't go as smooth as you'd expect from a dumbell at this price level. The concept is great. But the materials used are insanely weak. It's all plastic. If you want to enjoy these dumbells for a couple of years, you'd better treat them as if they're made from glass. So no bumping, no dropping, and always using great caution when putting them back in the base, or when changing weights. Not what you'd want with dumbells. I seriously don't understand why Bowflex doesn't improve the materials they use. Or actually, I do understand. Bowflex is probably just in it for the quick sales. Read more

Used this product for a month before writing this review. Just wanted to make sure it really does work right....and it does. Adjustment is very smooth and very sturdy. But it is a bit expensive. So I would advice anyone, setting up a new home gym, to first buy that dumbbell and bar set they selling on amazon for lot cheaper. And then upgrade yourself to this set. I was so hesitant to buy adjustable dumbbells cause many reviews about other brands were so negative, for sure, for adjustable dumbbells you need to buy a good quality ones, with durable selector and locking mechanism . this is where Bowflex comes in, they have top quality built, with amazing easy to use selector , safe and secure. I have also bought there stand which made all the difference in their usability . They go from 2KG up to 24 KG which is enough to train small muscles (Like biceps) up to large muscles like chest and back. Get a bench as well and you have almost 360 setup for most workouts.
