My daughter was a long user of the Ruizu MP3 player until recently the button was spoilt. I came across this product as a substitute and found it similar to Ruizu. The main features I was looking for were: (1) long battery life, (2) fuss-free, simple to use and transfer songs, as well as (3) pretty design where possible. This product fulfills the above features really well. The one feature I forgot to check was the availability of speaker mode. This product didn't come with a speaker function which is rather unfortunate as it was one of the frequently used feature of my daughter. But all in all, it's a good buy considering the price. The main reson I buy MP3 players is to listen to podcasts, WHILE doing something else, preferably with minimum interaction with the player, and that means minimising looking at it and navigating through menus. This is my test for a good MP3 player and so far this product fails dismally. If you use it exclusively for short pop music and you shuffle all the time, it might be marginally useful. The lack of dedicated volume buttons is critical. To turn the volume down, you need to take it out, look at it, and navigate through menus. If you don't hold the down key long enough, you get lost through the menus. If the menu for volume appears and you hesitate a bit, then again you get lost through menus, or inadvertently switch to another file. This makes it impossible to use it while doing something else while listening. Pausing while playing after the screen goes blank requires THREE button presses (of the same button), and resuming after pausing also requires THREE presses or one long press and a normal one. By that time, you need to take it out of the pocket and look at the screen. Using the Folder menu leads to correctly tagged files being played in the wrong order. One may forgive this for short pop music files, but not for classical music or audiobooks. Perhaps the version of the ID tags matters, I have only used version 1, which is basic. Trying to increase the volume leads to a warning about excessive volume and NO volume increase above 20 or so, despite having disabled that feature in the settings. In fact, as soon as you lower the volume below 31, it defaults to the lower limit. And, ironically, a setting of 31, that is almost always way too loud is impossible to lower quickly, because you have to long press the down arrow, and then use the left arrow quickly. Most often you get lost in the menus, so you have to resort to ripping the phones off your ear quickly.. The speaker function is useful and loud for its size, but only for a quiet room (useful for use as a pillow speaker). Microphone recording says "Please wait..." for 10+ seconds, so that recording something quickly cannot be done. Fast forward does not play sound, it simply does not work while playing. This means that you need to look at the player while fast forwarding, otherwise there's no way to know how much we skipped. That's another source of interruption. Rewind does not play sound, either. Rewinding in an audiobook is thus useless. Skip back does not skip to the beginning of the curent track first, but always to the. previous track. The only solution is to rewind, while looking at the player. Delete does not show the full file name in the confirmation question when deleting files, or when adding or removing from playlists. The standby mode takes a loooong time to switch to normal operation. No volume control on the radio!!! Exit the radio, set the volume and come back !!! I have found it to distort about 1% of the files I listened to, for a second or two (garbling sound). I couldn't get Bluetooth to work, but I didn't try to hard. Note that the manual states that you should NOT use Bluetooth in the car! To be fair, there is a small number of good features, but they do NOT compensate the bad ones!! Battery life is good (recharged 3-4 times over 3 weeks). It is very small and light. Easy to mount and read from Linux, within the limits of vfat. Playlists can be constructed on the player itself. Last used submenus are preselected on a second visit. I have been using a Sony NWZ-S544 for 14 years, but that's not available anymore, so I already ordered the nearest replacement, the Sony NW-E394, hoping that some of the attention to detail, empathy to user requirements and intelligence that the old product had is still there (this is achieved by using brains, preferably good ones ). Meanwhile, I will take advantage of the return window while I can. I have tried to use it for 3 weeks and it's been horrible all along. I don't know what happens with Amazon reviews, this is a failed product that seems to have largely positive reviews and a very low price, too good to be true. This little mp3 player is so easy to add songs and use. It connects perfectly to my portable speaker with a 3mm jack cable (you either purchase or already own). It has many extra little functions I thought were interesting eg, alarm, radio and voice recorder. It’s light and compact and fits neatly anywhere. I love the colour too (rose gold for me). Where the downside of this device is - value for money. It’s made from plastic and nowhere in the description does it mention the material it’s made from. For the price, I was expecting it to be made from metal. I can see this device easily breaking if it is dropped or stepped on. We live in a world of Bluetooth, and this device doesn’t cater for this function, which is fine. However, connecting an mp3 player using a 3mm jack cable is primitive. Unfortunately, I have to purchase an mp3 player as I can’t take my phone into my classroom where I teach and use sound as part of my lessons, so an mp3 player is the best option for me. Yes, I could have purchased an mp3 player that is Bluetooth compatible with my speaker, but I am already shelling out hundreds of dihrams for teaching resources out of my own pocket, so need draw the line somewhere. I purchased this particular brand as the reviews were really positive in comparison to others. So, considering the material it’s made from and the physical connection to an external speaker, you’d expect the price to be lower. This device is definitely not worth over 100AED. For me when I received the product I was a bit shocked as it is much smaller in your hands but it came with a genuinely useful manual and usb-c cable to help you transfer songs from a computer to the device, I bought an extra sd card assuming there would be little storage but I imported a few hundred songs on the device without error. The audio quality for me is more than satisfactory and the operating system accompanied with it (while basic) is still really informative and I can filter by albums and individual artists whilst also being able to put the song in a playlist or put songs on shuffle mode. Great product and would highly recommend if you just wish for a small, lightweight device to play some songs on. Read more

I love this product so so much, I bought this for my bus rides to school since I found using a laptop just to listen to music was so tiring. Its really small but easy to use so it’s a perfect pocket size. (Plus the box that it came in is super cute im keeping it) However, my only complaint is that the volume goes no higher than 31💔💔 yes ik so heart breaking… I like music to literally BLAST in my ears so finding out that the volume is low takes out so many bonus points, but 31 is still loud enough to not hear stuff around you.
