I've since completed 3 large rooms and 2 hallways, ceiling and walls with Sidekick and am impressed with the device. I can highly recommend it. Not only does it save time, it leaves a good finish, as clean as any paint roll job. I found that the time (and effort) saved not having to visit a paint tray all the time was invaluable. With appropriate care and maintenance, I see this unit up for many more paint jobs. From my experience so far, here are a couple of points to note: - Sidekick only released for the North American market, hence 110V AC power. I expected this, so being in Australia, I used a voltage adapter. - You can only use the special Wagner rollers (the one with the hole perforations). Rollers are expensive. As with all rollers, they are messy to clean and don't last. For me, I toss them after each use. - The paint feed switch controls the paint flow via a secondary pneumatic tube. If the tube get kinked or squeezed, remote control will not be detected. Not good if you are caught with paint feed on; though this was a rare problem. (I see an opportunity for a hack to improve this :)) - I find painting a messy undertaking, and this device is no different, so to ensure on-going reliable operation, clean all the parts thoroughly, and lubricate as noted in the manual.
