Scrivo questa recensione dopo più di un anno dall'acquisto del nikon 18-140mm: ho deciso di comprare questo obiettivo per sostituire l'obiettivo kit 18-55mm datomi con la nikon d3300. Ho subito notato la robustezza (e anche la pesantezza) di questo obiettivo, ottima la ghiera zoom e ottima la ghiera della messa a fuoco che, al contrario dell'obiettivo kit, è meccanico e quindi permette di capire quando si è arrivati a fine corsa (es la messa a fuoco su infinito). Altro lato positivo sta nella presenza della baionetta in metallo, tutta un'altra cosa rispetto a quelle di plastica. Con questa da un senso di robustezza e sicurezza che quelle in plastica (che hanno altri lati positivi) non danno. La presenza della lente ED si nota infatti le foto risultano essere molto più nitide e dettagliate (possiedo sia il 18-55 e sia il 10-20mm ed entrambi non hanno la lente ed). Inoltre avere i comandi come messa a fuoco e stabilizzatore (che funziona abbastanza bene) semplifica molto l'uso dell'obiettivo e della macchina. La messa a fuoco è veloce e precisa, solo in condizioni di scarsa luminosità impiega più tempo a mettere a fuoco. Mi sarebbe piaciuto avere la finestra delle scale della messa a fuoco visto che il controllo della messa a fuoco è meccanico. Il fatto che sia un obiettivo non luminosissimo permette comunque di avere dei buoni sfocati usando una lunghezza focale di 50mm. Principalmente lo uso per street e non mi ha mai dato nessun problema. Posso quindi concludere che consiglio l'acquisto di questo obiettivo visto il rapporto qualità prezzo. Read more

I bought this Nikon 18-140mm lens to replace my previous 18-105mm lens which I'd lost. I read several reviews from various websites, some of whom preferred the 18-105 lens, some of whom preferred this lens. The bottom line is unless you're the sort of person who takes the same image using various lenses, lays them side by side and studies them in minute detail looking for imperfections....unless you're that sort of person, you're never going to know the difference. The only thing that put me off buying this lens initially was the price. The 18-105mm is available for around £190. The 18-140mm costs over £400. However, I noticed one seller on here (RYH Deals UK) was selling the 18-140mm for £215. I was a little reluctant at first, not knowing if it would turn out to be a grey import or if it was genuinely a Nikon lens. In the end I went for it, and it arrived within 3 days, in genuine Nikon packaging, with a genuine Nikon warranty....Bargain! In my opinion, having used the 18-140mm lens for about a month now, it's just as good as the 18-105mm, with a bit of extra zoom which comes in handy. If you're looking for a genuine Nikon, general purpose, zoom lens, you won't go wrong with this one....IF the price is right. Read more

Buen lente zoom para cámaras Nikon de formato DX (no apto si tu cámara es de formato FX o Full Frame), que te permite buenas fotos en formato gran angular para tus fotos de paisaje o de grupos de personas y un zoom adecuado para la mayoría de los casos, donde deseas capturar con mayor detalle un objeto o persona más lejano. Por lo que con este lente, evitarás estar cargando un gran angular, un lente para retrato como un 50 mm o telefoto o zoom y con la desventaja de tener que cambiar constantemente de lentes, cargarlos todo el tiempo y exponer el interior de tu cámara al polvo cada vez que cambias de lente. Su calidad y distancia focal es mucho mejor que los lentes que suelen venir con las cámaras de gama de entrada como el Nikkor 18-55 mm. Este 18-135 mm aunque no es un lente de gama alta, sí se nota de mejor calidad que los que se incluyen con las cámaras de gama de entrada como la D5000. Aunque no es un lente luminoso (sensible a la baja luminidad) el que incorpore un estabilizador de vibración (VR) te permitirá tomar fotos a mano alzada (sin tripié) con menos luz y que no te salgan movidas o borrosas. No es un lente pesado, pero tampoco liviano. Considero que tiene el peso ideal para que combinado con el peso de tu cámara, sea estable al tomar tus fotos ya que una cámara/lente lijeros aunque cansa menos cargarlos, son más inestables. La longitud del lente no es demasiada como con otros lentes zoom o telefotos. Viene en su caja original, con su manual, su garantía del fabricante, tapa frontal y posterior. Arrived from Amazon in good time, fully boxed and warranted, perfect condition. Straight onto the camera (Nikon D7200) and out taking pin-sharp photos in no time. The focal length is a dream, great for landscapes, portraits, and almost any day to day photography. I'm thinking this lens will be my defacto kit for the D7200 going forward and i am incredibly impressed with its performance, even more so considering how little it cost. Love it. Read more

Lente muy versatil que te permitirá prescindir de algunos otros en caso de no poder llevarlos (por ejemplo en viajes), tiene buen alcance (considerando factor de recorte DX). Quick summary: This is a great replacement for the 18-55mm kit lens that typically comes with the Nikon D3500 (which I used to take all of the attached photos). It is much larger and heavier, however, but the picture quality is relatively sharp. Good for beginners/intermediates in photography (especially nature photography). I am a novice nature photographer, and here are my thoughts: Firstly, the company that I bought this from stated that the item was used but 'like new,' and I'm pleased to say that they were absolutely correct! The lens is absolutely in like-new condition and lives up to my quality standards in terms of build quality and cleanliness.it doesn't show signs of use. Thumbs up there. Next, the lens itself; talking about size, weight, and usability, picture quality aside (that comes in my next paragraph). In the three-lens photos, you'll see this lens in the middle, sandwiched by my 70-300mm VR kit lens (left) and my 18-55mm kit lens (right). In one photo, each lens is collapsed as small as they get, and in the other photo, the lenses are extended as large as they get. I have to say, the overall size of the 18-140mm (center) is a happy medium between the two, and its hefty weight feels good to hold but isn't too heavy that I can't hold it up for a while. It's been a very easy to use lens, and is great for nearly all shooting conditions in my experience. I love the switches on the side for turning on and off VR as well as switching between AF and MF. The D3500 makes you navigate through a few menus to enable and disable VR, so having the switch is really, really nice. The focus ring also has hard stops when in manual focus mode, which I also love when compared to the motorized manual focus of both kit lenses. I was never a fan of the disconnect that you feel when focusing manually with the ring, but then having the lag of the lens needing to use its motors to put the focus where you want it rather than just manually moving the lens with the ring itself if that makes sense. I like this lens as it makes me feel like I can use it more efficiently. Lastly, let's talk photo quality. At 18mm, the lens does have some heavy distortion (pictured in the photo of my window fan). This is easily fixed in Camera RAW with the default lens correction setting as Camera RAW recognises the lens and corrects for distortion accordingly. I also noticed that when zoomed all the way out to 18mm, there is some decent chromatic aberration and color distortion, and there seems to be a bit of a lack of sharpness in low-light conditions, but this could be due to me still not being used to the lens and getting used to the mechanical focus ring all over again after switching from the kit lenses which have electronic manual focus rings. When zoomed in all the way, you can still achieve great bokeh and a nice narrow depth-of-field if desired, thanks to the f/5.6 capability when zoomed all the way in at 140mm. when zooming in further, the image does feel much sharper and less distorted/fringed, which is to be expected with such a wide zoom range. Overall, the picture quality (sharpness and color accuracy) does change based on how zoomed in you are, but still looks great after a little post-processing. (the only post-processing done to the two window photos shown is making them slightly brighter, as my dumb self underexposed them in the initial shot - but I dod not touch any lens profile corrections.) One more thing that I'll add is that this has been great for blogging and everyday videography as well. An example is that I was able to film some great interior shots of my dad in his corvette, as well as exterior shots more zoomed in, with the same lens. This lens is great for high-speed shooting or filming where you may not have time to switch lenses to be able to zoom in. Overall, I have loved using this lens. It suits my needs as a novice nature photographer as it means that I don't have to switch lenses in order to zoom in further, and I only have to switch to my 70-300mm lens if I'm trying to get in really close to something that's far away. For everyday shooting, this lens has been somewhat of a game-changer in just how versatile it is in so many different shooting conditions. Being able to get a nice wide shot of a landscape or river, and then zooming right into something happening somewhat in the distance, has been a great ability to have for me. I can't recommend this lens for professionals that need the best picture quality that they can get, but for someone on a budget, being able to get this lens for under $200 (used) is an absolute must.
