I had some of this stuff around 10 or more years ago and truly loved it. It came up in conversation recently and I decided to order a bottle. The original I had those years ago really did smell like a rich, earthy soil. It was really striking, unmistakable and got many comments. What I received today not only smelled nothing like the original that I remember vividly, but not hardly at all like any soil of any kind There are some little notes of pine, but otherwise it just smells like cheap, soapy, generic cologne. I see some reviews that say theirs smells just like dirt and I'm happy for them, but this stuff I received is just fake or some different formula, I don't know and wish I could return it. So now, I don't know if I should try to order from somewhere else or if the real scent I remember is just lost to time. Big time bummmer for me, brother. Read more

Best thing Ive ever had the pleasure to smell. I've always told people my favorite smell is dirt but not just outside everywhere dirt but like old, basement dirt and when you sweep it up it's amazing smelling. I was nervous about buying Dirt because some reviewers hated it and I am very picky about the scents I wear. I'm in love, though. As a former melancholy grunge mistress of the 90s, it makes my heart happy. I smell like I just crawled out of my own grave to frolick with my lover in a pile of damp leaves on Halloween night. If you have ever gone into the woods and raked back the leaves. That musty, loamy, dirt smell that you find is exactly what this smells like.
