They are actually quite a nice design and are stronger than a lot of proper electrical tweezers when you exert a nit of force on them. This kit contains a pair of tweezers that have Mastrota paddles on both stems, and a glass rod that has a small ball on one end, and another flat paddle (larger than the tweezers' paddles) on the other end. The glass rod is packed in a metric ton of bubble wrap, so take some care when opening the bubble-wrapped piece and perhaps don't put presumably delicate glass close to your eye. This glass rod is excellent for other uses, like stirring solutions. The tweezers as well have many usage options as they appear well made, and the lack of teeth/lack of sharpness on the ends will be very gentle on whatever you're tweezing! But, I likely will not be using these to express my glands. I'm just too nervous. If they came with any form of guidance or instructions, I'd feel a bit more comfortable. The current price of roughly £15 is too steep for what you get, in my opinion. The price and the lack of instructions/explanation for what the tools do is what made me knock off a star. Read more

I’m not really sure about poking things in my eyes. And I certainly can’t condone that. Obviously seek medical advice if you have a problem with your eyes. That said the tweezers are superb quality and great for many uses. Note that thew tips are flat without rounded ends and have smooth jaws. (Note -rather like stamp collecting tweezers) The thing that sets them apart from cheaper tweezers, is that they are made of heavy steel and very strong. This means that you can apply quite a bit of pressure at the tips without them bending, which in turn provides great grip. Ideal for pulling hairs. As mentioned, I’m not going to put anything in my eyes, so I don’t really have a use for the glass rod. But it’s very smooth with a rounded bulge at one end and a smooth point at the other. Made of solid glass. A quick look on Amazon and you will see these exact same tweezers for up to twice the price. Considering the professional quality, I’d say these are good value, whatever you wish to use them for. Highly recommended. Read more

As a set of tools to express the Meibomian Glands around the eyelids, I'm sure these would be very effective, but I'm a keen computer enthusiast and the tweezers in particular are great for gripping small connectors on the motherboard. Unlike my other tweezers, these can get quite a good grip on things and this is especially useful when working in tight spaces like a computer case. Even the glass eye dropper rod is useful as a contact lens wearer and this enables me to fish my lenses out of the soaking solution without fear of damaging my lenses. Obviously being made of glass also mean that it's easy to clean before and after each use. Other uses for these could include model making, sculpting, embroidery and other delicate and intricate hobbies. Read more
